People overrate Meyer because we’re crying out for a player of his ilk, albeit with more quality. He’s not a bad player, but he is average.

So not sure what the point is here. If Meyer was a foot taller and more physical he'd be a regular. As it is, there's a reason we got him in on a free without any competition. Play him in his natural position, stick with him and confidence will blossom. He is quality whatever many here says...like a certain Riedewald that was written off by most fans.

I tend to agree, the odd thing is he plays alongside two strong defensive minded midfielders but still is expected to play like another one. So, they are either not covering enough of the park or we simply are not good enough to play without a strong 3

Can you let us all know what you think Meyer should be better at to make him not average? Then we can find a similar player with the qualities you demand Meyer needs to actually improve our team over. Then we can see how much that player is worth. And what his wages are. And what club he is at. And whether said player would come to us or whether we have ever had a player like that. Or ever will. Cheers

Cheers he's on a fat wage and is only decent in flashes - can't handle the physical side - he's not as good as McArthur - I think like the rest that we need a midfielder who can has some attacking flair but who doesn't get overpowered in games, not easy to find one without breaking the bank but that's the aim - and it shouldn't be that hard to get better value for money than we're getting for Meyer - we have Luka in the anchor role so I can't see Meyer getting his chance playing deep, and I very much doubt he'd flourish in that role as some are suggesting.
