I predicted a City win, with two late goals. Glad to say I was wrong about the result, but the late goals are a cause for concern. Roy's habit of no subs or late subs or the wrong late subs is something he should look at.
Ayew was knackered and Pierrick should have come on.
Still, a great result.

And why should Pierrick have come on ? Is it just to make a substitution for the sake of it ? Professional football players are very capable of playing 90 minutes.

I don’t think the Roy haters will ever be happy.

Of all the things that concern me about Palace at the moment Roy's subs aren't one.

Also, off the top of my head we've won points late in the game against West Ham twice, Man Utd and City.

Roy, Ray and Dean Kiely between them have forgotten more about top flight football than any of us know.

Only Wolves have won more points from a losing position than Palace. it's great to see our lads keep going to the end.

Why are they ?

We were playing one of the best teams in Europe, away from home, and after defending heroically conceded to one of the best strikers in the world.

Why should Pierrick have come on ? We needed someone with physical presence to hold the ball up, not an inexperienced rookie.

I'm glad you somehow found it in yourself to acknowledge it was a great result, must have been hard for someone that likes to otherwise just post in a negative way

8 points and +5 goals over same time last year.

My only concerns are with obstacles to infrastructure development and Roy's advanced age.

I will yell and whinge when watching a match but truthfully I can have no complaints about what is happening on the pitch

No disrespect to you, but this is exactly the difference from a normal person and a football manager. Not even at amateur level you will find a manager who plays an absolute beginner at the topic moment of the match away against a much stronger team.

None taken. Comments regarding Roy's substitution criteria, coupled with a lack of chances for youth, are common on this board.

Agreed but I am surprised he put Wickham on when he did. Tosun didn’t look as tired as Ayew so if he was going to make any sub I thought a better choice would have been Ward for Ayew who was by that point playing almost a defensive midfield role anyway.

Nail. Head. It ain’t pretty but it’s damn effective for scraping draws and one win in three average which is all you need in this league to stay up.
