If Zaha is staying until the end of the season that's a great development.

The time to worry about replacements is with Zaha, first....Zaha, second and Zaha third.

The ageing squad is responsible for a mid table position in our most successful era ever.

Value for money is rarely secured during mid season transfers.

Sustainable success has always been about a balanced squad, including the age of players, or you get a batch of players not up to it all at once, and for us they’ll be regulars. We haven’t recruited outfield players outside of the panini album successfully for quite a while.

The sale of AWB saved our &rses. As you say, what pans out with Zaha is also crucial. These are the only two players that have enabled us to do what bottom half teams have to do. Make profit on a few players rather than all out losses. Oh and Bolasie. Zaha hasn’t been sold yet.

AWB came about through necessity, and Zaha is depreciating without us knowing what we’ll do or who’s going to do it. Part of that we can’t control regarding future managers but it adds to the problems we’ve created with Benteke, Sakho, other established players at signature and nearing 20% off the pace, and we are still are creating because the strategy is to operate on a near term shoestring budget while hoping we’re bought out.

The accountancy decisions run the football now, and why I won’t get surprised or agitated each window. It is what it is. A bag of sh1t with major shareholders not doing what they came in to do. Build the club including the main stand. They did finance Sam’s survival campaign but they’ve now been repaid or in the process of full repayment and yet we’re borrowing money from banks charging interest to use some of instalment money from the sale of AWB. I suppose we’ll be biting our nails with Ward out again for months at some point and Kelly in at RB while that sh1t goes on. Paying interest on loans with billionaire owners.

Don’t count on much with this lot people. You’ll feel like a fool for doing so.

Agree, we are so predictable when Wilf plays, especially when Townsend isn't available to provide a second option. Our team is built around Wilf and it's all about defend for our lives and hope that when we can get the ball to him, Wilf will skin a defender or three and either score or put a killer cross in for a tap in a la Citeh game.

I'm sorry but I disagree, it was Parish who got the Americans involved and brokered the deal with them. The Americans, must understand the difference between the value of their investment in the PL will be entirely different as a championship club or dare I say a league one outfit. Parish is supposed to be the CEO but he cannot walk the talk. We have in recent seasons see many supposed transfers fall down at the last minute and instead seen the candidates go to our rivals as whatever is on offer at CP seems to be toxic, even managers have walked before Roy arrived because I suspect of lack of meaningful investment in the first team squad, although some other spin has been put on that to protect parish et-al. Parish has a total control culture and really does not allow any incomings unless they on his terms, which often sound unrealistic and unreasonable. As for Freedman, I do not recall any signings that have been down to him that stand out or indeed any idea of what succession planning he has in place to replace ageing players. He has been unable to for at least two transfer windows, if not longer, to find a decent striker even though everyone (except maybe Parish) knew that we needed one and the same can be said about our LB position after AWB left. In fact give him credit by all means when its due, in that respect Freeman was a good player forus, but also do not forget as a Manager he left the club for Bolton as he thought his options were better there!

The clubs transfer policy and handling is a shambles and embarrassment to all!

Quite honestly none of us know who pulls the strings and don't forget that if the Americans put in £10m for transfers then Parish also has to stump up £5m
