It seems to me that this January transfer window is a complete bust for almost everyone. There will of course be a rush on Friday, but despite that I suspect that most clubs have realised that there is no value to be had in January. I looked at this link [Link] to see what happened last year. Go through that list and see how many incoming players were successful. This link [Link] is for Jan18. One or two marquee signings (Aubameyang, Van Dyke, Laporte), but little else of value except Dubravka. I do agree however that this makes the inaction last summer even worse.

It seems to me that this January transfer window is a complete bust for almost everyone. There will of course be a rush on Friday, but despite that I suspect that most clubs have realised that there is no value to be had in January.

I looked at this link [Link] to see what happened last year. Go through that list and see how many incoming players were successful.

30 points achieved and nothing other than complacency at the top. Probably,no more signings which given Roy's aspiration of signing a minimum of 4,is shameful.

The upper management would put a twist on it, to say that we have actually signed 3 already :- Tosun Banks The guy from Welling. Eventhough two of those won't feature this season, and the other one might not be here next season either.

There are still 2.5 days to go and who knows who might come in between now and then albeit I suspect no one at all. Whilst I am not suggesting that we should buy a crock of S*** just to appease us fans I do find it odd that many other teams are getting business done in areas that they feel need strengthening whilst we appear to be sitting on our hands yet again. They may be buying rubbish - none of us know yet - but they are at least doing something on the face of it. We have money available and yet nothing happens. Has KWP gone to Southampton or not - I don't know - but Roy obviously wanted him and yet we don't appear to have got him? I am sure there is lots going on that none of us know about and in the corrupt and murky waters of Agents that players suddenly find themselves going to a Club they hadn't expected to because their Agent is getting a better kick back it must be a tough place to deal in. Despite all of that and more we are flipping useless at the transfers game and after 6.5 years in the Prem we still don't know what to do apparently. Too many Cooks probably but when without doubt we need a right back urgently, a left back probably, an inventive midfielder and a striker as a bare minimum but the likelihood of any of those happening seems remote. And so we will wobble on and hopefully get to safety and the owners will all be grateful to have stayed up when in reality this was our season to move on up - not Europe - but to be safe by now at least regardless of injuries. Roy is a negative Coach and it can be dull at times but if he doesn't have the tools he seems to require then how can we really blame him - even though I/we do. I hope to be eating humble pie at Midnight on Friday but I feel confident that I won't be. Bloody shame.
