Would be classic Palace if we start the week trying to sign a Champions League finalist, move onto the best player in the Championship and end up with a player who can't get into 18th placed Bournemouth's team.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

The papers have been sprouting this Jordan Ibe s***e about as long as they been banging on about us signing Khouma Babacar.

This would be a useful move from Palace but far from the goalscoring potential of someone like the late lamented Bowen. We need some more goalscoring power coming in from somewhere...

I'd rather we didn't sign anyone than bring this misfit in. Three goals in 74 appearances for Bournemouth makes Benteke look good.

I think Ibe has been the 1st choice target all along. Put it out there that we are after Carrasco or Bowen and after they fail with them switch to Ibe. It's the Parish way of placating us fans

At this stage anyone coming in would be a blessing! But seriously could be a good loan and buy investment? At this stage in the window, go with what you’ve got! That is if we are actually making a move for him!

We shouldn't be bringing in players just for the sake of it. And we even more certainly shouldn't be getting this bloke in.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Surely we cannot descend to the depths of signing Bournemouth flop Jordan Ibe?
This will only rank second to Sorloth in the modern history of monumental s*** Palace signings.
Come on Parrish, WTF??

Apparently this one is doing the rounds again... Unfortunately.

You don't need a link - but here's an interesting question for debate:

Joran Ibe at 24 y.o.a. or Andros Townsend at 29 y.o.a.
Which would you rather have?

In my few Andros has been a little off the pace and needs a good preseason. I think he comes across as a good team player and whether he starts each week or not, fighting his way back into the first XI is good competition (just not sure quite who for).

Ibe showed promise at WWFC and got his big move to Liverpool as a youngster, but maybe Wycombe is now his level again in the Championship. But I think he doesn't have the professional approach to football that many manager's would want in their squad. Low effort / low return. If he is on a free could you see it happening?

So I manage a Workshop which provides a safe learning environment for blokes struggling with PTSD and other mental health issues. Being a Palace fan isn't listed yet.

I’d take Bright Samuel over Ibe.
We’re linked with him again this morning and he’s an exciting young player with a lot of potential.
We’ve lacked pace in recent seasons and Bright Samuel as a minimum would be a good option from the bench.

Watched a 45 minute interview with him the other day and he spoke about what it was like to break through at such a young age and how he was treated at Liverpool by Rodgers and Klopp. Rodgers he consistently mentioned was like a father figure to him. Things went very wrong and Bournemouth and he admitted he was struggling with depression and drinking and living a poor lifestyle. Quite apart from the footballing side of things it’s good that he is seeking help and undergoing treatment because it’s awful to see any young man struggling with their mental health.

He’s a south London lad and to be honest on a free I have come round and probably would take him here. He’s clearly naturally gifted and every manager he has worked with has said he has the potential to make it to the top. I think he would give us some versatility by having another option that can play in a number of attacking roles. At 24 he still has plenty of developing to do, maybe an arm round him and being close to his family here might just be the perfect match.

As someone said, Bournemouth flop. Anyone who signs him, free agent or otherwise is a mug.
