Given our problems with long-term injuries it would be foolish to splash out on a player with underlying problems. Hopefully it is not that bad and we get this done so we can turn our full focus to signing another attacking player.

It depends on size of fee WBA wantand proposed wages. It is possible that these will be renegotiated as he is out of contract in summer so we could just sign him up on pre-contract so he arrives in summer and then WBA receive a much lower payment probably around £300K.

My guess is it will go ahead with WBA initial fee a lot lower but structured so that if problem is sorted they get a higher fee eg a fee paid each season if he plays 75% of our games. His base wages could also be lowered with a bigger basis on extras based on games played

With Zabsleta coming in loan, I suspect these medical issues were too significant.

I really hope that we are not gambling on getting him for free in summer. If WBA go up, he may stay or a another club will come in for him with bigger wages.

What sort of nonsense is that ? Why in the name of god would Zabaleta be coming to us on loan. West Ham, have 1 fit right back.

We have an ageing squad what not to like about Zabaletta hell fit in really well with all the oldies.
Once again no long term plan ffs Palace get to grips with transfers Freedman must look at his wage slip each month and just fall about f***ing laughing.

I believe I'm right in saying English team can't sign him on a pre-contract until he only has 1 month left of his contract. Foreign team, however, can sign him on a pre-contract now. There were mooted rumours of interest from Serie A.
