Is that a guess or are you privy to contractual details?

Purely a guess but when you listen to Roy’s latest interview he has said that he has an agreement with SP and nothing has changed. I honestly think they are going to try sort out the squad while Roy is in charge, bring in lots of younger players in the summer and let him keep doing what he is doing and keep us in the division.

I think a drastic change right now with our current squad would be a disaster for us as their is no point bringing in a manager with a completely different philosophy then trying buy a full squad to suit him. I think it will be a gradual change over the next couple of years with Roy still in charge.

Maybe I am just being naive or over optimistic but I do believe there is a plan in place.

There will be 1 more season with Roy at the helm and only god knows who the manager will be after that.

Might not even get one more season.

Looking from the outside looking in, I dont think Parish, Yanks, Dougie and Roy are all on the same page, particularly recruitment. If you believe the media Roy has been presented players that he just does not want. So where does the fault lie. If they know Roy has this ultra rigid defensive style mentality then why are they offering up players such as Meyer, Camarasa etc. We all know Roy does not warm to these types of players. If Roy does not fancy a player he just will not play them full stop, in some instances wont even give them an opportunity.

So if there is agreement internally that there needs to be a new direction taken with the playing staff, do we think Parish, Dougie and co think this is the guy for this? Can they work with him at this level? Theres a huge overhaul needed which will probably span over a couple of windows at least.. how long do we actually think Roy will stay on? If its a year extension for example and we ship players in and out in the summer in a years time a new manager may want to change everything again. If we are looking at a new direction and a brighter future i'm unsure if the journey includes Roy.

It certainly feels like RH is getting to the end of his tether with the board.

I actually think that Marco Silva could be a good next step for us. he'd be looking to prove himself again after Everton and he's in the mould of the new type of manager that we should be looking at. He can build off the defensive Structure that RH has put in place.

I'm not sure anyone would come to us as manager at the moment, though. There is no opportunity here. I Can't remember the last time we backed a manager properly.

Whilst Roy tends to be defensive minded, I suggest that his ultra-defensive mode is based around the squad he has inherited. I don't recall him being so defensive when he was at Fulham, but then my memory may well being playing tricks on me.
Also, I'm not sure how much of press rumour we should believe because it's so easy for journalists to put a plausible spin on things from a distance.
I tend to agree with EddieMac regarding Roy's future and think he will stay for as long as he feels able to do the job.
I also think he will want to oversee a move towards young players with potential being brought in.
Whatever we may think of this last transfer window, one fact is clear, namely, we have brought in young players (Banks 18yo and Rich-Baghelou 20yo) and the two we know we went for and didn't get for differing reasons (Bowen and Ferguson) are also young. That does point to a youth recruitment policy in the summer, and I think Roy will want to be involved.
Maybe I'm dreaming (and I'm certainly guessing) but I reckon Roy will want to leave a positive legacy when he finally does retire from what was his boyhood club.

if RH decides not to renew or the club decide not to offer him a renewal (or even end the existing arrangement early) with all this talk of no money it really has to be DF as the new manager because he has done the job previously & is already on the payroll. Maybe we would then see Mark Bright as DOF ?

7 years ago in the championship. And what does already being in the payroll have to do with hiring a manager to keep the £100mil pot coming in?

If Marco Silva ended up as our manager I would have a breakdown. The chap is a myth and absolutely clueless. I am waiting for the day when he writes a book and admits that he was never even a football manager but just made up a fake resume just blagged an interview and off he went. Con artist.

to be fair to him, he had a great record prior to coming to the PL. Hull was good initially, then a dodgy 2nd season, Watford, was really good until he got his head turned by Everton, and then abject Failure at everton..as many have been.

all in all, not so sure he can be branded a total failure off the back of all that.

I'd accept Howe but I don't think he'll get the sack at Bournemouth. He may decide to walk, though, if he thinks he's achieved all he can with them and that they need a fresh face.

I think that him walking is the more likely scenario. He seems to be doing a lot of inward looking and questioning his own performance in his post-match interviews and may come to the conclusion that his time is up.

Pochettino/Allegri

...both turned down Barca, so obviously waiting for the right club

Our problem is not with who the manager is but lack of investment for the future probably due to a poor return on significant purchases in the past.

We have influential shareholders who don't want to be with us anymore so are keeping their wallets shut.

I've always thought Nigel Pearson could have been a good fit for us but he is now back in from the wilderness.
