The Democrats are off to a flying start...

LOL. They really don't want Sanders to win.

As to the ultimate outcome still far to early to make a call. One thing though is the Trump rallies. Still drawing huge crowds with people sleeping through the night to get into them.

The economy is strong, his approval ratings have held up so I suspect it is his to lose but we shall see.

Can't see past Trump unless The Democrats completely change candidates. Somebody like Michelle Obama would probably win easily - the band wagon would be full pretty quickly.

A little wary myself. The US electoral college can sometimes make victories appear a lot more decisive than they actually were. Trump not winning the popular vote was not unexpected given how skewed the figures are in places such as California (imagine Islington with beaches and better weather) but his actual victory came down to less than 100,000 votes. Does not take much to swing that.

I want Trump to win but felt far more confidence in him last time around. US politics is a filthy business and he was not meant to win in 2016. Cannot see its Establishment making the same mistakes this time although the evidence on display so far perhaps contradicts that.

In a two party system there has to be a viable alternative. Maybe it's just my view, but the alternatives seem incredibly weak.
Can someone else join the race? I have no idea of the rules/ laws. That is the only game changer I can envisage.

Hilary is still hovering in the background. I think she is hoping that as the current list of wannabees lurch from one disaster to another that Democratic voters will demand she enter the race.

I suspect most politicians love the conceit "cometh the hour cometh the (wo)man e.g. Churchill replacing Chamberlain but I can't see that happening here.

It's Trump's to lose.

My take, and you have to take this with a degree of skepticism because I am essentially articulating what is nothing more than a hunch really, is that the Democrat establishment would rather have Trump win than see Sanders take over. Because he would probably do far more damage to their Corporate paymasters than anybody else.

They have already changed their rules to allow Bloomberg to make his presence felt and I suspect they feel that it might be better for them to have another Billionaire (and one MUCH richer than Trump) as their candidate or at least willing to fund them. Which I suspect he will not do if Sanders wins the nomination.

But what is going on in Iowa stinks the more and more I read about it.

Iowa caucus: 'I'm the winner' says Trump.

You know what, he probably is.....at least when it comes to the memes.

I am surprised that the Democrats haven't blame Trump or Russia for this fiasco it certainly has done them no favours with the voters, and none of the candidates have emerged with any credit either.

Wonderous stuff. And on top of the farce that was Iowa for the Democrats you have to wonder what on earth is going on with them.

An interesting ride awaits, that much is for sure.

Trump isn't going to stop demographic replacement in the US but his state of the union address contained some pretty based stuff and of course.....the republicans have shown up those who claimed that Trump would wreck their economy.

I'm no great admirer of Trump but he's infinately better than any of the democrats. Also, a lot better than our own Boris Johnson.
