Coronavirus is God's way of punishing mankind for allowing lime wedges to be placed in the neck of beer bottles.

No good was ever going to come from that practice.

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

It would be so easy for a foreign government to do!!

It's also under threat of a global economic disaster. A 'force majeure' would provide the authorities with a perfect scapegoat for the inevitable downturn we're staring in the face.

Only three months ago, John Hopkins, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the World Economic Forum (a hive of self-professed globalists) ran a "pandemic simulation" called "Event 201" specifically focused on Coronavirus. Not Ebola, or Swine Flu or even Avian Flu - but CORONAVIRUS. The simulation features the spread of coronavirus in South America, blamed on animal to human transmission (pigs).
The conclusion of the exercise was that national governments were nowhere near ready, scoring 40 out of 100 on their preparedness scale. The simulation projected over 65 million deaths worldwide.......

Given the evidence it appears that the coronavirus was gestated in a lab, not in someone's bat soup. In 2017, scientists outside of China warned that these labs (there are 2 Bio hazard facilities in Wuhan) were not secure and that a virus might 'escape' one of the facilities.

Coincidence or just another good old conspiracy?

Really interesting and informative. Thanks.

This was entirely new to me. Whether your conclusion is real, or just a theory, is impossible to say but even the possibility it could be true is enough to prove that a world wide approach to these issues is essential.

The only good news I could find is that the UK is second on the list of countries with the highest preparedness.

Given the flu epidemic just after WW1 killed more people than the war itself and the huge amount of international travel now compared with then, we could have a biggie on our hands of biblical size.

Repent, before it's too late.

I'm off to Singapore and Indonesia in about 5 weeks time. I'm not bothered about the virus it is more likely that airlines or governments will stop me from travelling.

Still I hope by then it has quieten down a bit.

Oh dear, I would add 2 weeks onto your holiday for the isolation ward when you get back.

I am a bit of geek when it comes to Pandemic stuff so have been following this for a while. And whilst there is a lot of hype and hysteria around it, it does represent a manifestation of a threat that many people have warned about for a while now.

In terms of the disease itself, then I am not so sure this is the one that will herald the EOTWAWKI event some are claiming primarily because it kills in a pretty conventional way i.e the elderly or those with an unlying chronic condition in the first place. Unlike the Spanish Flu which disproportionately impacted on the young and fit (All about your cytokine storms if you are sad enough to want to research the 'why'). If the figures I trust are proven correct then it is about 2-3% fatality rate.

The only outlier that scares me is that there are indications that up to 50% of people infected might be asymptomatic or suffer such mild symptoms that they do not isolate. And these can go on and infect others who might not get off so lightly. A good example of how this works is in terms of chickenpox and why it does not go away. Plenty of people out there claiming to have never had it but not only did but also infected a lot of others at the same time.

The fact that air travel is being restricted tells you how seriously this is being taken but the reality is that they cannot stop the spread. The Genie is out of the bottle. It will take a vaccine to stop it and I reckon they will have that within a year.
