I bet a lot of the underperforming white working class children are in really poor areas of Britain with very few prospects. The underperforming black children will be in London, not some small northern town or out on a council estate miles away from business and commerce or people going to work. And no, not all of London that didn’t go to university live in tower blocks.

If you want to get on you have to focus and ignore the disruptive at the right times or you’re ultimately wasting your own time. There’s more out there than the minimum wage or low skilled manual work but it doesn’t come to you. This is obviously not in the minds of teenagers we’re talking about. Well it’s reality.

It’s not a black/white issue, it’s a ‘working class’ issue. Kids from deprived areas across the country are clearly much more likely to be excluded. And there’s many deprived areas in London where the majority of the black population reside.
