Go home, hug the mrs and enjoy your evening.
I'm sure she will be mightily pleased to wake you up tommorrow with a nice poached egg on toast and a cuppa.

I am back in by abode after a wonderful afternoon!
A fully deserved win, in fact 1-0 flatters Newcastle.Dubravka kept the score down and they were a poor side.

Was nice to see Steve Coppell at the game.
Mick McCarthy was also in attendance.

About to depart to a drinking establishment with my dear wife and a takeaway curry is very much on the agenda!

Pictures how hot it is? The curry, not the wife. Unless you wish to.

Wilf permanently had two markers on him which was always going to keep him a bit quiet. What that did though was open up the centre of midfield.

Two markers to start with, then he was quickly surrounded by four, with the result described above. And, as I imagine we all agree, if the others could have exploited the space he created, we would have won far more easily. All the same, as I said to my neighbour, he had the look of a man who didn't want to get injured.

Excellent today deserved more goals and Roy obviously identified they weren't good enough to play out from the back.

MacArthur MOM followed by PVA. Dubravka's two first half saves were up there with the best I've seen at a game.

Thought Zaha was poor and we were better for Luka's absence.

Benteke had his best game in a while but still abject when he was asked the question.

Ayew was ubelievable, and James Macarthy apart from one silly early pass had a stormer, more mobile than Luka and the art of tackling survives with him in these days of safety first refereeing, popped up all over the place to stop things or start them, I think he's best used to facilitate fair players, gets stuck in then lays it off in a better position

over the 24 games this season Ayew has been a better player than Zaha, I think that is fact rather than opinion now surely. Been absolute quality, instead of trying to slow play down and walk past people he picks it up and runs at them, did it in the first half and thought it was looking like another West Ham goal. Been great this year. No sentiment in football I’m afraid. Wilf you’ve been great, but time to go.
Get some youngsters in.
Good game today. Guitita ( good as usual), ayew quality, Kouyate decent, Cahill very good , liked macarthy.
Thought Tosun should have come on sooner for Benteke and Townsend/Meyer could have replaced the unsubbable Zaha

ROY.....This is for you....

Today was without a doubt enough of your No1 choice C.BenTakeAway.... the open goals, clear cut shots on goal, etc,etc...missing them ALL..was enough to drive the wife and I "crazy"....and you stick with him....enough is enough Roy...He is NOT a goal scorer..forget it..That weak goal last time, which was a goal keeping error, and NOT a powerful, great shot, as some people say..but a feeble miss hit that Pickford was fooled by the tame shot...
We were at a complete loss, when he came out in the second half... I think ALL our other players had enough of his poor-poor play as well, and didn't really service him as they did in the first half..He might be a nice guy..but..he is NOT doing what we bought him for..useless, is being polite..sorry..
The points he has lost for us is mind blowing..not just now, but last season as well...enough Roy,,enough..

Er

Pretty sure Ayew has been his no1 pick this season

Tosun started instead of Benteke as soon as he came in.

Cenk will be 1st choice going forward

Ayew not a natural winger but superb in terms of work rate, tracking back and forward movement

Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons.

Agree , Tosun couldn’t play against Everton and Benteke scored, can’t see him starting again after today.
Ayew or Tosun to be the number 9 , if not Ayew he will play wide.

He's unsubbable for a reason - even when he's not performing, he draws the attention of several opposition defenders at all times. Got several players booked today and one sent off at the end, so I think it turned out to be a good idea to keep him on.
