It will certainly help but we are by no means safe with 10 games to go and 30 points to play for, if we West Ham win this weekend as well it only needs for us to lose three and them to win three on the bounce and we are level on points, so I would still like to see us pass 40 before I'm happy!

It's not just a question of what West Ham do. it's the number of teams between us and 19th and how much all of them bar one have to do to overtake us.

Our destiny is in our own hands as we have yet to play four of those six teams (I'm assuming Norwich will go down). Three3 of those games are away and one at home. in the reverse fixtures we gained 8 points so were unbeaten against them.

Furthermore, there only six matches that involve these six teams playing each other (although most also have a game against Norwich). Basically, therefore, these teams will need to pick up all those extra points from teams above us and mainly in the top half of the table

Currently, those six teams trail us by 9,9,8,7,5 and 2 points.

I don't see enough of those teams doing that unless we fail to gain any points at all in the next 11 games.

I am confident that we will survive and a win on Saturday will IMO virtually clinch survival.

For those still fearing the worst 25/1 is widely available on Palace getting relegated. Although stranger things have happened I think that pretty much reflects our chances of going down.

To be honest I'd be happy with 4 points from those two games.
Main thing is not to lose them. They are both 6 pointers and the other teams both need the points more than us.

The thought that Brighton, Watford and Brighton could all go down is wonderful

If we beat Brighton then we are pretty much safe.
We could then do Brighton a favour if we go on to beat Watford and Bournemouth...

On the basis of the game at Selhurst, I can't see us getting anything. Maybe if Roy decides to change the starting line-up to the team that finished the game against them we'll have a chance. If we sit back and allow ourselves to get pummelled again for the first 70 minutes in front of a "hostile" crowed then we could be dead and berried by half time.

We usually help Brighton survive.

We gave them 6 points last season which made all the difference.

I think we win this 0-1 with a late pen.

Three points and nearly safe.

Roy goes with Guiata; Jimmy Mac, Cahill, Dann, Van Aanholt; Jairo, Luka, Max; Ayew, Benteke, Wilf. We win 4-0.

I think it'll be a draw, but I have an underlying feeling of optimism that we'll get a win...

I predict anyone driving down will regret it as the M23 is closed (Crawley to M25) on the way home.

Let the train take the strain.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.
