He caused us problems ( though he was up against Riedewald for a good part of game ) but he also did much of the same against Liverpool. Looks very good running with the ball at his feet and looks to have suburb pace but his finishing is very poor. Definitely someone to keep close tabs on especially if Watford get relegated as I think he has massive potential.

MOTD also highlighted his lack of putting in a decent tackle when he had done all the hard running.

As title suggests, would like thoughts on this from others?

We were apparently in for him at one point and would be cheaper and more likely to happen if Newcastle do stay up!!

Saw that Hodgson will get his backing this summer, so hopefully if we have the money to spend think think this would be a great signing!!

We are more interested in Kostic and Antonio. They are our lined up Wilf replacements. Sarr has Everton/ West Ham written all over him - perhaps even bigger fish. Same for St Maximum.

There is a recognition that the age of the squad needs reducing.Antonio is 30 later this month.

I agree about Sarr mainly due to his electric pace, plus he has something of the Henry about him; he does look like a winger that will convert to being a striker in the long run. He cost Watford in the region of €25-30 million and even if they went down I can't see them selling him for much less, which would be likely too steep for us.
Saint-Maxim reminds me of Bolasie in that he is capable of "Hollywood" (as the commentators have put it) but I don't see him as having the attributes of a top 6 club. Anyway, I doubt he'd leave Newcastle for us unless they get relegated, but if he did then he would fill the entertainment quota if Wilf does leave. Such a shame we didn't splash out what looks like a very reasonable fee.

So that does reduce the age of the squad.

With respect, the point I was trying to make is that there is a recognition that the squad is ageing and that the focus will not be to attract those in their 30s but somewhat younger.

Was just joking about the age of our squad.

I accept your explanation.
I never detected the joke as I am not cerebrally blessed!
