can't we bring in the pools panel and let them decide each weeks fixtures, be interesting

Could a manager be sacked on the basis of a poor run of pools panel results?

I have a fear of the pools panel getting strange emergency powers - money will be abolished and be replaced with luncheon vouchers and we'll have to go back to eating pilchards and luncheon meat but only on ration - custard and crème fraiche will be replaced by junket and condensed milk respectively and Noel Edmonds will become grand dictator and Dixon of dock green will be on freeview 24 hours a day

How i miss those days.

Imagine the snowflakes if this did happen, god help us, poor loves.

Some would argue that is an upgrade based on what is currently served up at the ground.

The Government have said today that they expect the "Tide to turn" within 12 weeks which is around the middle of June.
It seems unlikely that the FA and EPL will resume football before that "tide starts to turn".A start date of 30 April seems highly ambitious.I appreciate that the extension of the suspension was "Until at least 30 April".

I see the RFU have ended the rugby season for all Leagues below the Premiership with an announcement to follow later in April as to what will be the decision re final outcome.

I genuinely don’t see any EPL or EFL games being played before September at the earliest.

The decision to declare the whole season null and void in the lower levels of the football league is grotesquely unfair.
Look at Hastings Utd, for example. Top of the Isthmian South-East, only 2 defeats all season, 3 points clear with 2 games in hand - and now it all gets cancelled.
They've been trying for 7 seasons to get promoted, and at this level only the top team is guaranteed promotion.
You don't change the rules 3/4 of the way through a competition. All 2019/20 leagues should be played to completion, and if this means eating into a chunk of next season, then change the rules for next season's competition (e.g. teams only play each other once, or suspend cup competitions). This decision completely undermines trust in the fairness of the contest.

PL clubs have been warned not to use the phrase "Null and void" when discussing contingency plans for the rest of the season.

The PL clubs have been instructed to use the word "Curtailed" when discussing the worst-case scenario of a cancelled season. The reason is that it will provide greater legal protection against broadcasters seeking a rebate on the £3 billion annual television deal.

In the event of an abandoned season, the PL would advance the argument that the matter was taken out of their hands by 'Force Majeure' and that they did not void the campaign.
