I wonder what will happen when they come to film this.

I definitely think they could make something about the brave whistleblowers in China who suffered for their ethics.

And leave out the PPE issue, nurses dying, and the Italian flights entering unchecked? Maybe concentrate on our great leaders, the pm and health secretary, and the man pulling the strings at the top, all getting the virus and coming through it, like brave warriors, to fight another day?

Yea I know they will spread it but this is what’s going to happen anyway, why not “lockdown” the elder generation and the vulnerable (which I totally agree with by the way my mum and dad were 2 of the 1.5 mill people recieving letter saying stay at home for 12 weeks) and let the rest of us carry on and build up immunity ? I don’t know nothing about science or politics but I genuinely don’t see any other way to beat this unless a vaccine turns up to the whole country tomorrow

I agree, we needed a couple of weeks or whatever to isolate and to set up systems for the vulnerable, pump a lot of money into the NHS expansion, massively stress social distancing as much as possible and mandate hygiene requirements for establishments and then keep the economy moving as much as possible......Some of that has been done but we have shut down the majority of the economy.

The repercussions from this are coming and I feel this view and variations on it are on the rise.

You know...it wouldn't surprise me.

And if they turn out to be correct...why not I suppose.

That film should be on every schools curriculum......but that's wishful thinking.
Should they ever film 'this' s***fest, i've no doubt that it'll be blamed solely on a germ. They'll obviously ignore the fact that a system based solely on debt once again died, in Sept last year (The Federal Reserves OWN figures).
A Just-in-Time financial system that finally ran out of time rescued by a Just-in-Time germ? What's the chances lol.
Sadly the majority of the public are too busy watching 'Love Island' i guess.

SW19 has a point.

Just my take Cryrst but why do you think that?

There are countries more densely populated which aren't economically locked down to this degree with far fewer deaths with the virus active.

Sars was big news one year, still has no vaccine and no one talks about it....flu kills thousands every year.

As was linked to earlier in the thread there are plenty of medical professionals who disagree with this approach.

But their voices are largely being ignored by the media....I wonder why.

Flu kills 1000s in the uk with a vaccine so it would be an even bigger killer without it. As a further poster said 30% odd are under 45 on ventilators. Without these ventilators how many more would die in that age group. As I posted all the ventilator does is buy you time to fight this with your own body. I'm sure if no one had access to a ventilator we would be at flu levels already. Then add carrying on as normal it would make flu figures a lot lower. Once this hits countries without the medical care in high numbers the death rates will be huge and that will show were we would be without ours. Watch the usa and they have loads more medical care. This bug doesnt differentiate with who gets it. It does though affect older people more who's bodies cant fight it with or without help. That's the key, the help to fight it.

I heard some professional on a podcast say that the US are far more doing the 'herd immunity' route....I suspect that different states are reacting differently.

Germany has a far larger private health care system than us though it's nothing like the US's. There's a lot of information that is being rationed on mainstream news.

What happens over these coming months will inform all of us and we all want the same result....which is overall less suffering. I suppose we just have different ideas on how that happens....or rather could have happened.

When they finally relax this lockdown I should think that your job book will be 'overflowing'....if you forgive the pun.
