"In 2009, the paedophile Jimmy Savile was interviewed under caution by police in Surrey and Sussex. Subsequently, the police referred 4 cases to the CPS alleging that Jimmy Savile had abused 3 girls under the age of 16.
The CPS, after receiving the files from the police, refused to prosecute Savile and dropped the case claiming ‘insufficient evidence’’.
After Savile’s death, and despite multiple attempts of high level cover ups, we now know that he abused up to 500 victims over a four-decade period.
Why am I sharing this with you?
The man in charge of the CPS at the time, that decided there was 'insufficient evidence' to charge Savile, is the now Leader of the Labour Party Sir Kier Starmer."

He has a young daughter, wonder whether he gives any thoughts to the victims/parents of the victims or indeed their Human Rights

Yes, definately looks the part, whether he walks the walk is another thing!

He looks like that shifty bloke who turns up at the door to chat your mum up a month after your Dad's died.

The simple question is can Starmer win Labour a majority in England? Because that is what electoral politics boils down to now?

Effectively he has 4 years before he is put to the ultimate test. Given current events then any and everything is up in the air but if I was him then I would be focused more on assuming full control of the Labour Party first before worrying about the Tories.

Because those Momentum types ain't going to go down without a huge fight and the reality is that they are the ones who can put a lot of boots on the ground when it comes to campaigning. Labour actually need them because they are the driven ones.

The Labour Party conference will be the first time when you can genuinely get a feel for how he is doing. But, and to give credit where it is due, then his initial noises about meeting with the Government and backing stricter isolation measures if required have ticked all the right boxes. Already feels different from how Corbyn would have acted and that can only be a positive.

However, I think there is still a huge chance that Labour may well split. Our FPTP system is the only glue holding it together given the ideological differences between what was its traditional white working class vote and the more Socially Liberal membership that dominates.

The question is can Starmer hold Putney and win back Blythe Valley? Now I am sure he has zero problems with SW15 but up in NE24? That is the conundrum.

I don"t have much faith in the cons so any slick opposition leader has a chance, just tell lies and hope the gullable believe you, boris was sacked twice over the years for lying, and it didn"t do him any harm, better to just speak the truth and deliver obvs!

So the new leader of the Labour Party is possibly not adverse to a funny handshake! As I said more Tory than many Tories

He must have gone to the same school as the conservative pm cameron, London mayor boris, and chancellor osborne, in the great Uber scandal a few years ago-its just business apparently!

You seem very protective of the red party.
So anti tory it's quite scary really.
Anyhow diane and McDonnell have gone and let's hope RLB gets binned. Get rid of the ultra left parts of momentum and he might have a party to put up a battle. Centre left would give labour the best chance going forwards. Not in 4 years though.

If you wanted to be an electable party would you want Momentum to do your campaigning and here lies his biggest problem.....keeping them and the other hard lefties happy and to do this he has got to throw in a few radical policies such as nationalising the railways, water etc.
You mention him backing the Government on tightening up the lockdown restrictions yet this afternoon his deputy Angela Rayner said that they didn’t support the possible exercise change.

Bring back Brolin

Yes , you are right, a centre left party is the way forward, i don2t actually dislike Boris, just seen the cons do so much skullduggery and get away with it from the press and voters that i like to stick the knife in when i see fit, like the Italian flights and PPE for instance, and would feel the same if corbyn had made same mistakes, but if he had most people on here and the press would crucify him, but when the con leader does it, it goes down as unchartered waters and is to be expected, thats what gets me typing!
