Whatever your opinion, our chairman has laid his cards cautiously in support and it's an interesting read;

Good piece from Parish he talks a lot of sense, of course as we are fairly safe in mid table he can afford to be pragmatic. Whilst I am tempted to point the finger at Brighton moaning about neutral venues I suspect we would have a different view if we were in danger of relegation.

So far the club has not put a foot wrong and was the first to safeguard jobs unlike some other clubs. I just hope that the rest of the PL is as pragmatic when it comes to untying this Gordian knot.

Still all to play for as they say.

It’s well written and confirms my own view. There are plenty of workers, key or otherwise, currently taking far greater risks.

Slashing through Badger. A knot of note as it could not be unknotted

Interesting to note his comment about Palace being in a decent financial position going into this situation. Somewhat different to how things are sometimes portrayed. That said, clearly there is going to be a significant financial hit affecting all clubs - maybe it might generate a more reasonable approach re fees and salaries? We can only live in hope!

Given our capacity relative to other clubs, I imagine losing gate receipts hurts others more than it hurts us. By playing behind closed doors, its a net win for clubs with lower gameday takings. Think how much more united must get from a home game compared to us

Growing number of clubs said to be against neutral grounds, including Brighton. Seems most of those in danger of the drop. Surely as everyone playing on neutral grounds, is it not a level playing field?
Having said that, as games will be played behind closed doors I can’t see the logic to playing on neutral grounds, which entails both teams having to travel rather than just one.

I think Alan Brazil has a point he suggested St Georges park which has 11 pitches. If you are using neutral venues with no supporters all you need is a good pitch and training facilities. You could base some of the teams there like a cup competition and have games played at the same time on TV. The advantages would be:

- Central location players don't have to travel.
- Policing one site versus policing 10 sites as some idiots will still try and get to see their team.
- It's fair on all teams everyone is away at the same site so Brighton can complain as much as they like but it's the same for Norwich et al.

Now I don't know St Georges park and it may not be suitable but the principle makes sense an alternative that has been suggested is Australia.

Anyway the idea of one central location would be far better than multiple ones. As Parish Said imposing a workload on the police and NHS services is out of the question so a centralise solution would be far better.
