I get the feeling that in the bigger picture and longer story of this virus that we’ll be battling with it longer than Sweden and a lot of other countries. I don’t think that’ll be down to the government alone but also the huge number of arrogant, ignorant or think people we have in this country. There are so many people making up their own rules or can’t wait a few days for rule announcements. You then get people who want to do the same, just like in panic buying bog roll and pasta. It’s going to start coming down to looking after yourself and your own, let the rest take the virus home after socialising and spread it around their friends and families and just leave them to it and try to steer clear of them for as long as possible. Someone I know said it was a load of fuss over nothing before we locked down and then 4-6 weeks later criticised Trump for not taking it seriously or acting sooner etc etc etc. I originally thought Sterling had decided to make better use of his time just as another repetitive and obsessed government bashing poster joined in. He possibly also got bored of arguing against a lockdown. But I then started to be concerned maybe something serious. But he’s decided on isolating himself so doubtful.

Yes I think we should be careful as neither wlllo nor Stirling are spring chickens. I am not going to comment on willo but seem to recall Stirlings opinion was more nuanced than all fuss and nonsense. Didn't he express admirable concern that the balance had shifted wholly to protecting the vulnerable at the cost of the economy.

Stirlingsays will be OK as you can't catch coronavirus from a keyboard and I spotted that Willo hadn't been around a few days ago so looked for him on the BBS and Trolley was actually online when I checked so he's OK too

Yesterday was the 75th anniversary of VE day which was a time when everyone looked after each other and many of us have been celebrating yet we now seem to live in a time of f*** you I'm alright

Stirling said we shouldn’t be in lockdown and just old and vulnerable should be isolated. I agree with him, but after the cases and deaths and R number have reduced to a level it won’t quickly escalate again. I think that’s the only way the government can be confident of no 2nd spike, because they can’t be confident. They can only minimise their chance.

Corruption and privateering rife throughout the war and thereafter The rot was present in every aspect of society and most looked after number one. And god forbid if you were a bit foreign. The only difference is the young cared more for older relatives

Hotel bars are to remain closed. PHASE 5 Phase 5 of the roadmap will lift the following restrictions: -Social gatherings will be permitted except for large gathering and gatherings in households of suspect cases -Schools and colleges will reopen on a phased basis and will recommence in the new academic year -Normal hospital and other residential setting visits will be allowed -All employees may return to work on normal onsite arrangements, except organisations that cannot maintain social distancing plans -Enclosed shopping centres may reopen -Tattoo and piercing parlors may reopen -Cinemas may reopen -Close contact physical sports may recommence (rugby, boxing etc.) -Gyms and dance studios may reopen -Mass sporting events may recommence where social distancing can be maintained -Indoor recreational venues may reopen (bowling, bingo etc.) -Small festivals and other outdoor cultural events may resume -Tourist travel to offshore islands may resume
