State controlled media, state controlled everything, which is why we should avoid Chinese involvement in 5g infrastructure.

What's the saying
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
5g to china will have an emergency stop button at any time. Pretty cute I reckon.

The EU is still refusing to budge on their position. They expect us to abide by their rules and their courts and give them access to our fishing waters.

Unless they pull their finger out it's going to be a no deal Brexit and I wonder if the farmers of France, Spain, Italy and Greece will be happy with that to name a few.

that as you know it's an evidence free conspiracy theory and you cannot back up your assertions with any actual facts you will resort to a tactic commonly found in these pages.

Which is to attack the poster rather than answer the post.

So go and look in the mirror and ask yourself who is actually behaving like an "old codger" here?

If you find some actual evidence then we will test whether I am intransigent. If you don't, and fail to admit it, then I trust you enjoy wearing the cap!

No wissy, what I mean is what I said!!

Well worth the 4-page read, David Frost's letter to Barnier is... somewhat frosty...

[Link]

... and it appears to clarify the two positions in these negotiations:

UK: We want a trade deal
EU: We want control

No more of this "our friends in Europe" crap. The EU are most certainly not our friends.

I will be extremely happy if we do not budge an inch. Any movement towards these unprecdented encroachments on our economic and political autonomy will permit perpetual litigation and legislation to constrain our competitiveness. We cannot be seen to succeed.

I love the way the EU talks about "a level playing field". It sounds cosy and harmless when what they really mean is that the UK must abide by EU regulations internally and even when exporting to non EU countries. We will no say in how those rules are made and if we disagree we must use their European Court to settle our disputes.

The EU want to tie us to their regulations because they are petrified that we will successfully compete against them.

The EU is in dire financial straights if this doesn't concentrate their minds into giving us a reasonable deal then nothing will. I believe we gave them a deadline of end of June / July to make substantial progress we should stick to that and get on with a no deal Brexit.

Reluctantly and to ensure their other concerns get published. That's realpolitik. It's ever thus in the real world.

We all know China has censorship and is trying not to allow itself to be seen as culpable, in any way, for this crisis. Whether they were, or not, won't be known for a long time and may never be definitely. In the meantime we have a worldwide crisis to deal with and playing any kind of blame game in the middle of it diverts attention and damages relationships, just when they need to be strengthened.

Whether intentional or accidental I don’t think there is any doubt China is responsible in some way for this virus. Unless of course, the labs don’t exist in Wuhan and they never had markets selling live wild animals for food. Only my opinion as ok now certain posters will disagree

ITV report saying over 1000 illegals crossed the Channel in dinghy since Lockdown. Report shows dinghy being escorted from French waters by French Border Force ship, this is despite us giving millions of pounds to stop this. Cross border co-operation. Dinghys have, surprise surprise, several claiming to be minors

Considering the fact I kept hearing about how the UK would be basket case disaster after withdrawing from the EU. They dont half seem worried about us being a competitor. Frost just needs to hold firm especially in a post covid world are really cant see the EU member states being happy with a cut off there nose strategy. The EU is doomed to fail if they do that they would make loads of the Mediterranean countries and even Germany poorer in the name if their hellbent ideology. Cant see it happening a deal in our terms will be agreed.

The SNP have been told to join the queue to join the EU if they ever get their independence. Also adopt the euro and reduce their GDP debt which is running at 7 % higher than Greece apparently. Maybe all the free stuff has caught up with them, tuition, prescriptions, dentists and more.
Suck it up sweaty we are oot.
