I'm more of a historian than history teacher but I do teach history on occasion. I'm not famous or anything. There was a time I wrote a bit, lecture toured a bit but I mainly do history in the pub these days. That is, if we ever see the pub again.

Keep them coming , very interesting indeed! Yes, i guess the pub could soon be in the history talk!

And did it very well. We could all be speaking german and still in the EU if old WC didnt have a pair. I'm glad our present PM has a pair as well as will be shown going forwards.

I doubt if there would have been an EU had Hitler prevailed. More like a German autocracy. Err...wait a minute!

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

And this was happening years ago. Who took over production of the British Mini ? German engineering absolutely rocks. Just ask NASA.

There is a fine line between 'terrorist' and 'freedom-fighter'.
In almost all cases, it involves murder.

Nelson Mandela, being , probably, the highest-profile.

Murder is never right, Ever. But it's what brings parties to the negotiating table, unfortunately.

In 1919 there was a big vote in Southern Ireland for Sinn Fein, irish independence and all that. The Brits ignored the vote and told us to p1ssoff.

There followed the War of Independence...and brought parties to the negotiating table. The Brits leadership did not have the enthusiasm for another big fight just after WWI and i wouldnt blame them. They faced the option of either respect the vote or genocide the irish nation off the face of the Earth.

In terms of genocide, The previous attempt at an organised political Famine (An Gorta Mór) had been only partially successful. Lord Trevelyan is even more hated in ireland than Oliver Cromwell. The National Archive at Kew has documents that prove that the famine was more than just a natural disaster but that it was managed and orchestrated i a Land that was still exporting foodstuffs. The role of the military in protecting food convoys from the starving masses was very significant.

What really drove the independence vote was the 1916 Easter Rising and how the ringleaders were all executed.

So much for the sanctity of Democracy and the ballot box.

As argued earlier, Gerry Adams is a monster in an 800 year conflict that has had many monsters on all sides. The Good Friday Agreement is broadly peaceful and respectful of all sides. It is lamentable that it cost 3,000 lives to get everybody to sit down and actually listen to each other.

Yes, the youngsters over there have definately taken a leaf out of the "yoot" over here, not all obviously, and in Dublin the turf wars are absllutely crazy, they seem to have more actual gang warfare there than we do here, most of the gangsters gave up when the Albanians took over everything, i read that they have control of the whole of the uk now except for Liverpool!

The point about the Albanians is true I'm not going to put myself in it or anyone I know but in the past I moved in some moody circles around the barking area. When a massive Albanian mob took over on the gascoigne estate that was it everything bought and sold went through them. Also they all connect with eachother more like a mafia then a street gang. If they want to do someone they usually bell up connections from back home do the job and then they're back in Albania before anybody knows what happened. Everybody knows they dont f*** about so everybody dances to their tune. When they get in liverpool they will run that to. To well organized.
