But we were told that this kind of thing would never happen, even less so while the threat of a no deal Brexit was looming.

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

Maybe you missed this critical paragraph:-

"The organizational streamlining won’t affect staffing levels or business activities in either country, it said. The headquarters of Unilever’s foods and refreshment division, which represents around 40% of the company’s sales, will continue to be based in Rotterdam. The home care and beauty & personal care divisions will continue to be headquartered in the U.K."

So this has nothing to do with jobs. Much more likely to be ready to take advantage of the expected lower tax regime that a desperate UK is prepared to offer in an effort to shore up its economy.

Don't though let that stop anyone claiming it as Brexit victory.

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

During the Brexit process one of the major foreign corporations I think it was Japanese moved their London HQ to Europe. Much was made of it by the Remainers the number of jobs involved was 5.

I'm not bothered either way about these corporates they blamed Brexit for jobs losses now they will blame the virus. They always do what is best for them.

Hmm. The "EU Commission" and "voters" - two concepts I don't tend to see in the same sentence.

The EU political government layer is utterly uninterested in the economics of it - they just want to dispense with the annoying "nation state" thing, and move to fullly federalised US-E. It is a political project, with political aims. I'm just grateful we rejected it.
