Let's start with the Guardian newspaper.

Funded by a cotton ( picked by slaves ) merchant who was anti Abraham Lincoln and was critical of the leaders of the Peterloo protest.

Yet today the paper is a refuge of columnists who make a good living promoting whatever left wing cause is the dish of the day and generally slagging off the UK.

The level of hypocrisy is hilarious.

Now, they cannot use the " that was in the past " arguement.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Are you sure? Every account of those events that I've ever read states that that cotton merchant was so determined that the country should know the truth about what had happened that he wrote his own report and got it to London overnight before the government could publish its own lying version. He later founded the Manchester Guardian as a reformist newspaper.

(By the way, I despise the Guardian for what I see as its prejudiced reporting, verging on dishonesty.)

He was certainly critical of Lincoln and made his money in the cotton trade. Seems he supported the slave trade to me, unless the lefties can put another slant on it? Wissie/Maple the floor is yours

The guy who came after the original owner was the one that set the tone of the Guardian as a radical left paper. I think the original owner was radical to a point but then you could argue that Donald Trump is radical, radical doesn't mean left wing.

One more point
