This may have been done last year, but in light of the 50th birthday of the festival, I wanted to get some memories

* If you have any memories of Glastonbury, then it was probably 5hlt.

To Start:
In 1993 I bunked a few sickies from work and went in a Chrysler Sunbeam with my mate and a boot full of beer.

Rolf Harris and Robert Plant were on the first day. The Welsh arrived a few hours after us, and after that , the toilets were unusable.

I was woken on the Monday morning by some c-unit playing a guitar on the roof of my mates van (see photo)
Turns out it was Evan Dando, Lead singer of the Lemonheads who played on one of the big stages the previous night.

Gave a guy a lift to Camberley station coming home. He was from Croydon/Elmers End (and maybe Palace ?) and he'd had his car nicked by some Scouse Scallies over the weekend at Glastonbury

** I'm after Mr Apollo's memories of the first Glastonbury with the staff-meister.
Anyone please add. Photos are good, but the stories are the main course.

I was at Glasto in 1977, 7-7-77 I hitchiked down with staffie and the last part of the journey was 2 bikers who gave ups a lift.

The stage was the Rolling Stones mixer stage from Knebworth, and it was all FREE!

Some bright spark decided to sell the local scrumpy on site and people were passing out in the hot hot sun all over the place, caused more havoc than all the narcotics consumed there put together...

It's now mainly a woke corporate w*** fest. Full of the sort of people I despised then & despise now.

300 quid a ticket with over 200,000 attendees & still can't turn a profit???
I would suggest hiring someone who could organise a piss up in a brewery.
