LOL. I should not really bear grudges and in a way, it is not really their fault. Like so much in this world, what started out good does not go bad but just sort of decays into a blandness. Society has never been so conformist with the irony being that those most hell-bent on ensuring that we have no other choice but to adhere to a group-think mentality would have been, even 20 or so years ago, those at the forefront of proclaiming themselves as the 'rebels'. Now, merely the worst kind of sheep who simply want to expel from the flock anybody who shows even the merest form of not adhering to what everybody else is meant to say and think.

It is like all this BLM lunacy at the moment. Taking a knee, vocalising that perhaps defunding the police and a whole host of incredibly sinister notions are not a form of rebellion anymore. This the Establishment POV. Believing that smashing up shops and attacking cop cars is a legimate form of protest is what the Corporations actually support. Hence the farce of having to watch something as venal and globalist as the Premier League falling fully into line behind it.

Perhaps this is all just proof that the world has gone full turn and that anarchy is now considered to be the default position of all correct-thinking people whilst those of us with traditional socially conservative views are seen as the extremists.

It seems that Starmer is now running into problems from his own MPs over the sacking of Bailey.

I think they have a point.

However, do we think that Bailey or indeed those Labour MPs would extend this nuanced approach to those outside the left.

I think not.

This is the environment that they themselves help create and they only complain when their own rules are applied to themselves.

It was a battle that was inevitable and I guess he has chosen to fight on this hill. And I suspect he will win it. Strategically better to fight it early on, get the bad blood drawn before the conference. Interesting to see the time-line in that RLB had already agreed to row right back on the tweet but even then not enough, with Starmer effectively stabbing in her back.

Some on the Left think that Starmer might have even threatened to withdraw the whip from RLB over this.

I suppose the key point for her is she is unlikely to be involved in the Lib Dem fave past time of rent boy scandal.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

It might be a battle he can win at some cost....but it's an unwinnable war.
