And Sir David Attenborough come to think of it.

Cogent points. It’s hard to argue against the mathematical wisdom of those gents. Not sure about this Attenborough though. Who does he manage?

I'm someone who accepts that climate change exists but I think the actions of its activists are extremist and absurd.

I accept as SW stated, that a change to less polluting solutions just makes sense as we go along. However, what we do matters not a jot compared to China, for example.....This is where these activists should be..Europe isn't anything like the biggest polluters...Instead, they are creaming off funding from western sources in Europe and in some instances their leaders have other political agendas.

As for the Greta's and the Attenborough's of the world.....Well, unfortunately I think they have been extra alarmist these last few years and taken the very worst and most unlikely projections and presented them as realistic.

Their voices are being heard without being contested and schoolchildren are being told this as factual.

The global temperature rise may be going up but in the Arctic sea the ice grew by an average of 82,100 square kilometers *per day last year. This is 18,000 Sq Kms faster than the 1981 to 2010 average gain of 64,100 square kilometers and is the third fastest December ice growth rate in the satellite record.

So having bashed the BBC this morning I thought I would post an interesting article about Hydrogen.

[Link]

It seems whilst electric has won out in the car market Hydrogen maybe the solution for the big boys such as lorries, diggers, trains and even planes.

I still believe Greta can get her way but without destroying our economy. Technology will find a way.

When they develop a system that can suck in air or water and separate the hydrogen from the rest then we will have the answer to our problems. Being powered by hydrogen is straight forward, creating it on a large scale without going down the standard hydrocarbon route and storing it safely, not so.

Good old coal!

This will happen eventually anyway.
The sea level has been higher in the past than it is now.
If Man has done anything it is to speed up the process.
Ice ages happen and they are punctuated by warm spells, warmer than today historically.

Our fate at the hands of the climate is inevitable. The only question is how we adapt to it in the short term. Our technology might be as much of a burden as an advantage.
Climate loons really have to look at Earth climate in a broader context. Climate changes constantly, quickly and slowly. The Chicken Little act is ridiculous.

M0st of these oil companies have the patents in the bottom drawer. Too much money in fossil fuel to bring it wholesale to the market.

All these claims about climate change or global warming etc whatever the name is this year has been debunked already none of it was based on any real science claiming about humans causing this or that.

The Connolly released the info on this which just sums it all up and debunks so many lies explaining a lot using science check it out.

No one has had any come back for it because their isn't any.

They have done a lot of material to find it just search Michael Connolly or Ronan Connolly.

I'll probably regret posting this but here goes!

I hate stuff like this. Michael Connoly is what looks like an A-level science teacher and his son Ronan Connolly is a computational chemist. His wife Imelda is also named as heavily involved on one of their websites and she has several degrees in music and child development.

Granted you have to be pretty smart to get a degree of any kind, I never managed it, but just like a football qualification doesn't make you an expert cricket coach, the accolades listed above aren't the same as being a qualified climatologist.

According to his own web site [Link] all of their work has been published on a website that they themselves have set up (http://oprj.net/) and not in recognised, peer reviewed journals. This will be the reason that "no one has had any come back"

I think its important to point out that Amongst the discipline of climate science, 97% of properly qualified and peer reviewed scientists from every country in the world agree with the scientific data that human caused climate change is happening.

Just because mr. Connoly can dumb it down enough for the non scientific community, does not count for anything in regards to whether he is right.

Here's my source on that 97% claim just in case you're wondering.

Science doesnt work on numbers who agree.
It works on facts and proof.
You cannot vote for a scientific outcome.
There is still no categorical proof as there is no historical data apart from core samples.
These prove it was different but nothing else.
4.5 billion years of earths evolution and we think we know everything from some data collected in the last 150 years.
Money! That's why we have climate change.
