Make these people live in cramped s***ty conditions, this is what happens. Weren’t they also exempt from testing on arrival?

Report on BBC, these workers were living 4 to a room, where is Maple to defend this?
They then report 3 workers have left the farm! Where the f*** have they gone?

Funnily enough all the workers are well known in the local town as that is where they do their shopping

There is growing evidence that mask wearing actual makes a significant difference. If we're looking to help the economy and reduce the potential burden on the healthcare system, we should take basic steps that help keep the infection rate low. Countries that have this best under control are not arguing over masks, they are wearing them.

Florida is at 15,000 known cases per day, god knows how many actual.. and a high number of full critical care wards. That will increase the death rate considerably. Once you're at 15k a day, even if people are careful it's incredibly difficult to get the number down without further lockdowns, and who wants that? Better to take steps to keep the number low and let it rumble along at that level, that way businesses have a fighting chance and if people need to be hopsitalised they can be. Doing our bit now is preferable to saying how stupid it all is, then being outraged when there's no hospital bed available if you or a loved one become ill.

But yes BoJo wearing one is largely symbolic. He's already had bad case of covid-19 so is unlikely to be able to get it again any time soon. He's wearing one because of the attitudes towards wearing them and for the sake of improving public health. Here's 70 mask studies for your reading list: [Link]

and a recent one: [Link]

"We do know social distancing reduces the risk of transmitting the virus by 90 percent, and wearing masks decreases the risk by 65 percent."

Implying that masks make things worse has no basis in reality. I wasn't overly in favour of a wear masks in shops mandate, but at least it would put a lot of this stuff to bed and serve a purpose. It looks like Boris will end up have to nanny the public on this one.

Wrong. They said months ago cloth coverings keep in 18% of particles. Now it’s 3-33%. These could be bought on amazon, eBay, a pair of pants or tie off your wrapped round your face or a scarf you tie up and then pull loose so you can breathe. There’s no science or consistency with these face coverings. They aren’t masks. People aren’t going to wear them and I don’t know why people convince themselves they will. This isn’t Japan or Korea.

The problem in Florida might be to do with tourism. Disney is open. If you’re importing the virus then the waves that died out like in the north of England won’t be able to in Florida. The fear of this dreaded 2nd wave hasn’t lasted in Arizona. It’s dropping. And anyway, these are healthy people being infected and building up immunity, which is what is going to happen or have to happen unless you want restricted life or lockdowns as they’re called until a vaccine some time next year or never. Well they are only healthy people being infected unless the old and vulnerable are chancing it. Moreover it’s deaths that are important, not healthy people being infected with mild sickness or asymptomatic even. But infections is the new buzz word, after save the nhs, save lives, stay alert (try not to go within 2 metres of someone when it’s mouth vapour that’s the issue), to the R number, to prevent anybody getting sick.

It took a long time for people to wake up to this but eventually many have, helped along by boredom, furlough ending and the prospect of unemployment and house repossession. It’s only the holier than thou work at home and public sector workers who think they’re above people who are able to intelligently work it out for themselves without needing to live by instructions week to week. I know of some who literally won’t do anything until the government indicate they can go in someone’s garden in get 1 metre to someone rather than 2, when the whole time the government are making most of it up. I admit I fell for this crap to begin with but it was always supposed to be short term so that there weren’t hospitals full of people on ventilators. Now I read that’s a worry again. Not for me. Fvcking bullsh1t. The vulnerable stay safe. Everyone else, believe it if you’re a f&nny flap.

Who's 'they'? You would benefit from reading the body of research that's out there about masks. Make mistakes for yourself, not at other peoples expense.

In any case, our opinions are both irrelevant from the 26th July. You can complain about masks to your hearts content while you're wearing one [Link]

It opened two days ago didn't it? As for immunity, we have no idea how long that lasts. Some recent research suggests it might be short lived, which would limit the effectiveness of herd immunity, but immunity is complicated and multifactorial so the jury is out. Hopefully it lasts years in which case we might see the back of it. The very best approach in the presence of several unknowns is to take sensible steps that are thought to keep the spread down and to avoid high numbers to begin with. Good hygiene, mask wearing in busy settings where it's viable - public transport, shops - and so on. That's how you keep businesses open and that's how you save lives of people deserving of our consideration in the process.

If someone is maskless, coughing their way around a supermarket and knows they have covid-19 they are the gimps and before long they'll likely be getting dragged out of the place.

You previously seemed to suggest there was nothing wrong with the conditions these workers lived in, indeed your daughter spent a summer doing similar work.
The answer to my question is “ no-one knows where they are, including the one who tested positive.
