If going foreign which is a major if to be honest after FDB then how about Getafe boss Jose Bordalas ? Good defensive coach judging by the last 3 seasons, finishing 8th, 5th and presently 6th with good goals against stats in La Liga. Could bring in the likes of Guaita as well ? Would have good knowledge of Spanish football.

In terms of Spanish managers, last week I spoke to someone who spoke positively about Diego Martinez who got Granada promoted last season and have held their own this season in La Liga.

Even Dyche admitted that Burnley were lucky to get anything out of that game never mind win it. De Boer tried to do too much too soon. Had he tried to change things gradually he might still be with us and we would be enjoying a better style of football. BUT that's all history. The point is, I don't see SP going for anyone other than Dyche when he/Roy deems it time for Roy to go.

By which time Dyche will have another club!
He was interviewed years ago and not deemed suitable De Boer got the job so some irony that we fans are talking about him as a possible future Manager!

Martinez brought in Darwin Machis,a Venezuelean winger who I've talked a lot in the Transfer Talk section and he svored and assisted at about half of Granada's goals. Cost only about 2 million.

But can't really judge Martinez as a manager based on just 1 signing. Could be just a guess.

Hard to build a great team at Palace just with what a manager would have now, especially if Zaha leaves. The one who comes needs to be a transfer specialist and also a great financial savvy person, who won't cripple the club, but instead win for it dozens of millions in a few years time. That's why I talked about Lucescu. Best in Europe. Beat in the world actually at this

I can't quite imagine life without Roy at the gelm, but if and when he is replaced then I would love to see an experienced but young British manager bought in. I'm a big fan of Gareth Ainsworth or Karl Robinson.

Ha Ha, can you see SP allowing Ainsworth at Selhurst & upstage him in the media & popularity stakes?

Both good shouts tho.

As much as I am desperate for Roy to be replaced I don’t see it happening even if we finish the season with 8 consecutive defeats but I hope I’m wrong.

We need a miracle worker but Allardyce won't come back. The other one I can think of is Bielsa: he's got Bamford scoring left, right and centre. If he can get Bamford to score, perhaps he could get our strikers to score - even Benteke. Plus he seems to not mind young players, or need a large squad. Not that he'd come here, he will stick with Leeds who will certainly be more ambitious than us.

Getting Bamford scoring is impressive. However, I really don't think getting Benteke scoring is that difficult.

We have quite incredibly built a team with a striker who wants to head the ball, served by a forward who doesn't want to be on the wing, and a winger who is right footed playing on the left, who wants to get to the byline and not stand it up.

Shown by Benteke's first season - all Andros Townsend did that season was hit early crosses and Benteke nearly got 20 goals. Allardyce has said it on punditry loads of times - Benteke is dead simple to manage. Just cross the bloody ball early 5 times a game and he'll score.

Honestly, if we signed someone like Marc Albrighton who just put the ball in the box early Benteke would hit double figures.

How about Paul Cook of Wigan?
Winning 7-0 at half time today v Hull.
This is nearly as many goals as we’ve scored in the whole season so far in the all the first halves combined.
I am joking before anybody takes me to task.
