Next season is going to be unpredictable. For instance when is it going to start and when are the turnstiles going to open?

Roy provides stability. Hopefully by the end of 20/21 season matters will be a lot clearer. Then is the time for a new manager who can take control of Palace for the following five seasons!

Always remembering walking from the Holmesdale to the Whitehorse end at half time!

Funny old game,football.

Should Roy master mind an unexpected victory over Man U tonight,he will move from zero to hero and many wishing he retires will be eating their words!!

He didn't ... so we can continue to malign the ol' codger.

The media seem to think around Saturday 12th September as the start date.

As for the turnstiles, your guess is as good as mine. Can't see full capacity allowed for months, but how they plan to move up to it God only knows.

If there really is a Covid vaccine widely available by the end of this year it could change everything very quickly.

I do find it amusing to see people lecturing on how to manage a football team from the comfort of their armchairs, in the genuine belief that they could do it better.

Not forgetting they also know everything that has gone on behind the scenes with transfers / lack of transfers / promises / empty promises etc ... mystic Meg ain’t got sh*t on this lot eh!!! Lol

A very big word in this context. Also one would have to hope that the virus hadn't mutated to the extent that such vaccine became ineffective.

The virus may well mutate, hopefully any vaccine will at least behave like the flu vaccine and at least lessen the symptoms and aid a speeder recovery in those circumstances!

I wish SOME of our players could 'mutate' into footballers. Just saying.

I think that come Monday next week, after we’ve finished the season on a run of 8 consecutive defeats, he’ll be leaving whether he wants to or not.

If this was happening in April/May then possibly this would happen, but with the turnaround to the new season likely to be very short unless we have a new manager lined up and ready to go it could prove costly to let Roy leave.

Personally I think he was let down with promises of new players that never materialised and given what he had available to him it is a great accomplishment that we were effectively safe with almost a quarter of the season left to play. Ayew has attributed his personal turnaround to Roy so I wouldn't be so sure that players don't want to play for him. I also imagine he had a hand in convincing Cahill to come. On the flips side the football has been depressing at times and our one usually reliably entertaining player has put his magic set away for reasons only known to himself.

Personally I wouldn't be devastated if he left but I would also be fine with him staying, especially if we actually sign a few quality players (I think that is more important than the manager right now).

That is my only slight pang of guilt with wanting to move on from Roy. He has not been backed as far as I can tell with funds for bringing in his own players. Its not as though we are in this current situation with Roy being given any real autonomy on who he recruits. Theres clearly been a disconnect with Parish, Dougie and Roy here. Even those that have come in appear from the outside looking in, not his choices. I'm thinking of Rakip, Jach, Camarassa and Meyer. I believe Sorloth was Roys choice..I could be wrong.

Roy may go after eight straight defeats yes.

He may want to start the new season, hopefully not getting eight games as this would equal eight losses!

Thank him and retire him now; please.
