In an ideal world yes, but I think Wilf now has his mind set on going whatever. He dreams of winning something which he is unlikely to do with Palace even if we were to buy in some better players in the break.

Me too, but I’ve set my sights lower. A game will do for me.

The time is indeed to move on from Wilf and not be so reliant on a one man team..

Very true, very true.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Zaha appointed a new agent Pini Zahavi some months ago supposedly because his former agent wasn’t able to deliver a move.
Zahavi has extensive contacts in the game and has a reputation for being able to move on his players.
Zaha has a number of years remaining on his contract but it must be doubtful Palace could get the same amount of money for him as they could have last summer.
Best case scenario may be if we were able to exchange him for player(s) that we want from another club.
There would apparently be a sell on fee due to Man U but it’s unclear on how this would operate if a player exchange was involved.
Perhaps a nominal value would be applied to the deal so Man U could get their cut.
In hindsight it may have been better to sell Zaha last summer when there was interest in him and market conditions were more favourable.
However, nobody could have foreseen how poor his form would be this season or the impact of the virus on football economics.

I have heardthat Man United are watching Zaha closely and Ole agrees Wilf was treated badly last time he was at Old Trafford.
I think a deal will be done that suits all parties this window with the sell on agreement scrapped as well as one or two United fringe players coming the other way.
Might not happen as things change quickly in football but from what I've heard, right now, its Wilf's most likely destination.

How many players have left “to win things” and ended up with naff all ?

Wilf has already had this experience once already.

Realistically there are only 3 or 4 teams in the premier league with realistic aspirations and with respect to Wilf I can’t see him improving their teams.

His only option in my opinion would be to move abroad.

Leicester and Wolves should have Wilf as their top target. He’d guarantee both Champions League football. Imagine him and Traore causing carnage. If a club bids £40m we should let him go. It’s the least we can do. I love him but he’s too good for us and it’s cruel keeping him.

I don’t entirely agree. He is perhaps too good for our current set up, but not too good for our club. Had we built around him the last two years we might have been pushing Leicester and Wolves right now. Our lack of support from the spendthrift billionaire Americans and our vaguely wealthy Chairman and the apparent lack of overall ambition at present has put us in a position where he probably feels he has no alternative but to leave.

Yes to Daniel James a pacy young winger.
No to Phil Jones another injury prone veteran central defender - although Roy may like him!
Man U may be an option although their first choice looks to be Sancho.
It makes sense in as much as Solskjaer wanted Zaha when at Cardiff and the sell on clause to Utd would reduce the price.
Still can’t see it happening though.

My hairdressers cousin knows someone that used to occasionally bump into a well known football agent in the local Waitrose.

They were told last week that Leicester are interested at around the £30m mark.

I wouldn't take this as gospel though

I know he's had a poor season, but can you really see Parish letting Wilf go for 30m having been supposedly holding out for 80m only a year ago? 40/50m plus add-ons would possibly be accepted. Personally, albeit probably unrealistically, I would favour he went to Chelsea and we get Hudson-Odoi and Batshuayi, with neither player seemingly seen as first-team starters by Chelsea but both would be very good for us.

When Vardy wasn't scoring Leicester weren't winning, which must be a big worry for them given his age. They have probably far exceeded their expectations this season and if someone poaches Maddison they might start to look quite ordinary; would Wilf risk ending up at a club which is not really any bigger than Palace, but which has admittedly done well in recent years? Possibly if they get CL I suppose.

I still think he's pushing for Arsenal and it'll come down to whether they can raise the funds to buy him. Anything else I think would feel like a consolation prize in his eyes. Given their lack of creativity in midfield he could do well there as well.

The 'Rumour Mill' is very active leading up to and during a 'Transfer window'.

I don't recall seeing Zaha back to Man Utd (There was a 25% Sell-on clause) to team up with AWB.
Solskjaer tried to sign him for Cardiff.
