Brentford only paid £1.5 Mill for Benrahma when they signed him from Nice.

In actual fact, Brentford have signed a number of good players for a relative pittance, including Mbeumo at nearly £6 Mill and Watkins for £1.8 Mill.Excellent transfer dealings and Brentford are an attractive side to watch.

This! The people in charge at Brentford know what they are doing. I noticed Mbeumo's great season as well.

And they signed players who you could tell will do great things in the future, even though they were very young:

Mbeumo- 12 goals and 4 assists in 2900 minutes in Ligue 2 of France at 19 years as a winger before he came

Mathis Jensen- 12 goals and 10 assists in 3200 minutes as a central midfielder in Denmark in the 17/18 season at 21 years of age, before a season in Spain't top league at Celta Vigo where he wasn't given chances- this season has 1 goal and 7 assists from central midfield for Brentford

Benrahma- 12 goals and 6 assists in 3500 minutes as a winger in Ligue 2 before coming, at 22 years old- exploded in Brentford- 10 goals, 15 assists last year, 12 goals, 9 assists this year

Ollie Watkins- 16 goals and 12 assists in the 2016/17 League Two season aged 22

Maupay- 14 goals and 3 assists in 3100 minutes in Ligue 2 and a few goals in Ligue 1 as well by the age of 21

Marcondes- 30 goals and 9 assists in 2 consecutive seasons in Denmark by the age of 23

Sergi Canos- 10 goals and 7 assists in 2250 minutes in the Championship and Cup competitions before signing (you know, he hasn't played much this season and he might be cheap, would be a shrewd signing cause he is just 23 and will develop even more from now on)

Lasse Vibe- 39 goals and 14 assists in 2 seasons in 4400 minutes in Sweden before signing

So, yeah, hire whoever is in charge there!!!

Watkins would not be available for 10 million though. He has a contract until 2023 and last summer they made it clear they wouldn't accept anything less than 20, what they got for Maupay.

Since then he has only gotten better, so I expect the price to have gone up. If they get promoted, they surely will want to keep him for another year and hope to sell him for more after some good displays in the PL.

Doubt we'll see any of them sign but, given a choice who you picking ? Odsonne, Chalov or Michy

Given the money Chelsea want for Michy I can't see him going anywhere

Palace fans:

“Sorloth can’t be good - Turkey is a farmers league”

“This Edouard fella looks great and is scoring loads of goals. Sign him”

The Scottish league is as bad (or worse) than Turkey. I’d argue it’s worse - the top Turkish clubs seem to fare marginally better than the Scottish clubs in European competitions.

The double standards on these two guys is insane and solely based on two things. 1) Scotland being closer than Turkey so people liken it to the English leagues when it isn’t anywhere close 2) a belief that Sorloth is bad based on 15 minutes in a Palace shirt under Hodgson who has also ruined Meyer, Benteke, Camarasa etc.

You make a good point about Scottish football where I disagree with you is over the lack of opportunity that Sorloth had at Palace. He had plenty of game time and never looked like a class act.

Edouard is a natural goal scorer with plenty of pace. He’d be a great a signing. Celtic screwed up by selling Craig Gordon because they thought they’d keep Foster as their number one keeper but he didn’t want another loan deal. We should offer them Wayne plus cash and see if they go for it.

Odsonne Edouard scores a hat trick this afternoon. OK the opposition weren’t great but that’s not his fault. He is a classy player who looks like a genuine striker and goal scorer. Celtic won’t be keen to sell him this season as they go for a record 10 in a row but he’s as good as any of the names being touted here and better than most. We should test their resolve now before he scores a few in Europe and puts his price up further.

Edouard left out of the Celtic team for the Champions League qualifier against Ferencvaros. Apparently a thigh injury. Celtic lose 2-1 and Lennon admits certain players want to leave the club. Celtic already looking at a possible replacement. Time to offer cash plus a certain Belgian striker perhaps or an Irish midfielder who supports Celtic. Come on Dougie. Bring the boy to Palace!

Would be icing on the cake and I agree about player exchange. Hasn’t the player stated he will only leave for a big PL club? I know Leeds were interested, and players seem to love Bielsa.

Not even Sky Sport are mentioning a link to Palace atm...but it may well be the player is leaving Celtic. He does seem a natural goal scorer though....

Can't see him choosing to come to Palace. Not sure if any of the 'Big 6' would be interested, so, if not Leeds, then perhaps Wolves, who may need to replace Jimenez.
