I think you will find it is the press that have been banging on about Roy being at odds with Parish over the type of players to sign. It is little wonder there is confusion amongst our supporters. I think it’s probably best to wait see what happens in the few weeks. We haven’t got long to wait so might as well save up all the fire and brimstone posts until it can be seen how we managed to screw up this transfer window! Hoping to be proven wrong btw.

I think the idea of playing the youngsters needs to put into perspective and reality.

Each place in the Prem is worth about 2 million. So would people rather play youngsters at the club who as others have pointed out do not have a very good track record even at their level for yhe sake of playing them. Or would you rather say gain two places and spend the 4 million (compensation) for Nathan Ferguson?

Just read a statistic that indicated that Palace are the first club who have failed to score more than two goals in a game during a season and still avoid being relegated.
The Hodgson fans will see this as evidence that he’s doing a good job to avoid relegation with the paucity of attacking options.
His critics will point to his defensive tactics and tactical rigidity as the reason for lack of goals and will say he’s unlikely to be able manage a similar feat of staying up next season if he employs similar tactics resulting in an equal lack of goals.
Guess it goes to show you can prove anything you want with statistics.

That's always been the case. Here are a couple more:
-as against our paltry 31 goals in the league this season, we scored 45 in 2017/18 and 51 in 2018/19, all under Roy. What does that tell us? It will depend on which side of the Roy Hodgson fence you choose to sit. Last, season, of course, most of those goals came away from home, when we scored 3 goals or more in no fewer than SIX games, winning five of them (Citeh, Liverpool, Leicester, Burnley, Arsenal and Cardiff). We also, of course, scored 5 in our final home game.

So what does all this tell us? I will leave that to others since as I've said on several occasions I'm neither pro nor anti Roy, just mad about Palace and wanting the best for the club.
