Maybe his finishing has never been great but how can a player assist goals when he is double/tripled mark every game, together with the rough treatment he receives. Perhaps his teammates should have stepped up to the plate and supported him more on the pitch.

If he stays he'll still be a Palace player and I, for one, will support him UNLESS he throws his toys out of the pram because he didn't get a move. HOWEVER, I fully expect him to move during this window, but maybe not before the new season has started. I can see both the board and any suitors 'playing poker/chicken' etc. until one side backs down and either accepts what's on the table or pays what's being demanded. I do, though, think we will buy in before we sell him. The board, hopefully have learned that it's not a good idea to get funds in from sales before you start going after what you need (inflated prices)

His massive earnings mean it’s easy to have zero sympathy for him but I genuinely think he tries when he is out on the pitch. Let’s hope the final deal is beneficial for us whatever happens.

Without this unquestionable talent to help in our sole aim to just stay up for yet another season,given our likely signings of loan players and frees,I can see a long hard season ahead,given our experienced,aged squad.
