Bournemouth will probs try to hold onto him, but if he is available, there will be a host of suitors, and Palace outsiders

It does make you wonder. Bournemouth seem to have a squad full of £20m to £40m players which people want and yet they are relegated.

Either those players are not as good as people think they are, or smug Eddie has lost more than just his mojo if he couldn't keep them up.

Eddie Howe had a bad season for sure but overall I like his brand of football and his personal style. Hope to see home back in the prem soon.

We're always outsiders, especially when it comes to going for good players.

as the pundits have remarked. You can't concede over 60 goals every season and expect to stay up. Bournemouth conceded over that figure in all five of their EPL seasons. Given that statistic, I was surprised they let Mings go to Villa. Of course there may have been other issues behind that decision.

I'm surprised this guy wasnt mentioned in the media before yesterday.

I was thinking about this recently. We have an opportunity to approach Eddie Howe at the moment to regards taking over at Palace. If we were to go down this route, it could put us in a better position for David Brooks.

We could even take him on loan from Bournemouth, and if Bournemouth dont get immediate promotion back to the PL then we would be in a better position to take him permanently.

All pie in the sky though, because I dont see anything changing at all. Manager or spending.

I think that is a major flaw in his ability as a manager. He has had plenty of time to build his defence or work out at style of playing where they do not concede as many and that was his downfall.

That is mainly why I don't want him at Palace we would be leaking goals all the time.

I’m hoping Howe will step away from Bournemouth for a break - just in time to pick up the reigns from Roy in 8 months time. Don’t think we’ve any chance of signing Brooks as other clubs will offer more (development, trophy opportunities and fee etc). Great prospect though and exactly the type we need.
Howe’s policy of buying young talent for above market value ( like Solanke, Brooks, Ake) is a sensible one as their value doesn’t seem to be to badly affected by relegation. I think Howe would be a very good long term appointment for us.

Have to agree with this.

I'm tired of the 'plucky Bournemouth' narrative that gets spilled out by the media, when in fact they've spent £200+ million in the last few seasons and have billionaire owners. Buying players like Solanke (£20 mil), Ibe (£17 mil), (Rico, who? - £14 mil), Billing, awful player (£15 mil), Danjuma, again who? (£16 mil), Lerma (25 mil), Benike Afobe (11 Mil!!) Some awful signings in there. Some real successes in Ake and Brooks but that's a lot of fails.

It's this narrative that gives Howe some credit which I personally dont think he deserves. He's never sorted out their defense and this is why Bournemouth have been relegated. How is he going to manage with a smaller budget at Palace. No thanks.
Plus, he's so boring - i'd fall asleep at half time if I were a player haha.

Depends on how severe his injury was and what's the possibility of relapse

If Howe is to move on anywhere he has to learn , how and when to shut the door to his own goal. Hodgson, has only lost to him once in six games winning three. So if he came to us would we be better off?
Howe has got some good individuals ,and Brooks is one for sure, he would make a big improvement to our offensive play without shaking the team up to much. Exactly the sort we need but never can afford.

JMac went down with Wigan and played for a season or so in the Championship with rave reviews before joining us. Proved a very good deal. Brooks is a very good midfielder, probably too good for the Championship, like JMac at the time. However cannot see him coming here as he will have other suitors, like JMac who very nearly joined Leicester over us.
