Osayi Samuel is too much 1 sided. Never played on the opposite foot in the last years.

Almost 23 years old too, with little success in the lower leagues.

It would be a poor spending of money.

I'm a bit confused by your logic here though?

You have given suggestions of Lucas Joao who is 3 years older, a striker that has spent the last 5 years in the Championship and never scored more than 10 league goals in a season as a £10m striker that could be worth £40m in a couple of years. However, you say a winger who is 4 years younger and has just had a season where he scored a couple of goals less but double the amount of assists as Joao is a poor use of money?

Also, the majority of the players in the entire league are very one footed and I don't see why him being a traditional right winger should be an issue. It's not like we play a system that has a fluid front 3 or 4 like Liverpool.

I'm not saying we should buy him, more I just don't understand your differing views between him and Joao given the above.

By one sided I mean he only plays on the right. Hardly any IF ANY wingers in the PL can't play on both sides.

As for Lucas Joao, he's a player that not many people notice. I notice him because I look at things a different way than most managers and know where to find a good deal.

He's someone who no one else would have auggested. His exploits seem few because of the lack of playing time or because he was at times used as winger instead of his best position, which is center forward. Scored 19 and assisted 8 in 3500 minutes from that, 64 matches since 2018. Also played as left winger and right winger in this time.

However, he has good pace and strength and would do well in the top league. Maybe not huge resale at his 27 years, but he would get the job done.

I'm not advocating for either player, I was more interested in how you were basing your thoughts on one player being a waste of money and the other being a great investment.

In terms of BOS, according to Transfrmarket, he's played 84 games on the right, 33 on the left, 9 through the middle and 6 times up front.

Lucas Joao has played 163 times as a striker, 30 times on the wing and once as the second striker.

As a striker he has scored 38 times, as a winger 8 times, which means he's actually more prolific as a winger.

Ultimately, I think an almost 27 year old that has not scored more than 10 a season in the Championship isn't going to set the world alight with a move to us, besides he only moved to Reading a year ago.

Really similar to Bolasie in a lot of ways. Even runs similarly when you see them both. Very direct and has looked good this season.

£25 million for him and Eze would be a great bit of business. We need depth and I’m sure it could help them both settle in together.

What I can't work out is if it looks like QPR are going to lose Eze to someone is why they are reported to have accepted 5 mill for Osayi Samuel. Surely they would want to keep him. Would love to hear the QPR fans take on it all.

Good that you brought this up. Osayi Samuel has last played on the left in the 2018/19 season, so not at all this year and all he ever did in those 30+ matches was 3 goals and 3 assists and those way down in League 2.

Lucas Joao (and anyone else for that matter who is right footed and plays as left wing) scored his goals as he got into middle center forward position during attacks, cut inside also in a central position or at set pieces. So I count his goals as winger as he would from center forward position too.

We’ve had a left footer on the right and a right footer on the left for the last 3 seasons - and we don’t create or score enough goals. Our attacks are slow and predictable to defend against. It’s time to have a left footed winger on the left getting Behind the opposition, to the byline and whipping a cross in and a right footed player doing the same on the other side. This will give time to our forwards and the odd midfielder to get on the end of the cross . All our best teams over the years have done this.

The discussion wasn't that Lucas Joqo should play as invertwd winger, but if he's a good finisher as a center forward. I reasoned he was.

Little risk in these. Get him on board. Young and resale could go up if he is any good

Little risk in 5 million spent on one of the 3-4 attacking midfielders? If those don't play well and it's all on Jordan or Zaha's shoulders next year....I can't see us avoiding relegation.

Choices must be made very intelligently. Huge risk involved.

Totally agree. At under £5 million for a proven championship player who is English for the home grown quota he will only be worth more money in the future. It’s a no brainier
