On a pay as you play ( no not paid much !) deal here.

Can see this being a more realistic signing for you guys than Sarr.

The key words in that report are "nominal fee" and I agree if we could get him at that he would be a great addition Roy knows him and always played him as England Manager.

Pay as he plays deal seems sensible but would only welcome this as an “extra” squad signing not the main signing

If we are trying to bring down the average age of the squad I can’t see how an injury prone nearly 30 year old is what we are looking for.

Would be a useful additional signing but even Roy knows we need an additional striker who is young, productive - and not injury prone!

Maybe Roy could add Rickie Lambert at the same time.

For years we have heard about: 'Pay as you Play,' but does anyone know of any footballer who has actually signed such a contract?

If you think about it the ill-will it would cause between player and manger would be immense, when they were not picked.

If I was DW or a pro who had played for England I wouldn't entertain such an offer.

The only time he got a run in the side (largely due to injuries) was the last five games of the season when he started four games, scored twice and assisted once. For most of the rest of the season he was restricted largely to cameos.

For me, if he came through a physio, wasn't asking crazy wages and there wasn't a significant fee then he could still have a few years at the top level left in him and would at least be an option from the bench. In the games I saw at the end of the season he still looked quick and lively. There were lots of people who were concerned when we were linked with Ings due to his injuries and we know how that turned out.

He was future talent about 10 years ago. Now he´s only a lost talent. NO!

I'd rather we didn't go there (although I'd swap him for Benteke). I'm hoping that our board stick to the remit of bringing in good young players with potential who could have a decent future sell-on fee.

He could perform a similar role to Wickham.
