He got linked with us a few times under Simom Jordan.

Then went to Burnley in Jan 2011 when no one would have wanted to come to us.

That said, Bournemouth should have probably got rid of him in around February/March and got the likes of BFS in.

Spent lots on unproven young players like Cooke, Selanke, Ibe.

Think he lost his way at Bournemouth and that incident with the forward Fraser didn’t help. He is unproven and whilst he did well at the club he did spend a lot of money during his tenure.

Jury’s out on him and I don’t think he is the right fit for Palace.

chequebook manager.

left bournmouth in a horrible state financially losing £100m a year in the PL, and thats without relegation.

not suprised hes left, whoever manages them next season has to deal with a squad left battered after a firesale this summer.

Is Howe/his board another example of trying to take a small team to the next level by throwing money away on overpriced players?
He should be applauded for the fact that he took Bournemouth from the trapdoor that leads to oblivion into the PL in a very short time, and for keeping them there for the first 2/3 years. It's the last couple of years where he's lost his mojo.
He certainly needs time to reflect.

I’m not a huge fan of Howe, but you have to acknowledge his achievements.
He took over Bournemouth when they were 91st and in danger of going out of the league.
He used 10 of those same players which then formed a core of the team that got to the Championship, some of whom remain there.
I think he probably stayed at Bournemouth too long, and some of the buys were questionable although I don’t know if they were Howe’s choices.
I’m not sure he’d be a great fit for Palace because he had quite a lot of control at Bournemouth which I doubt he would enjoy at Palace.

Is the correct answer.

He was crying outside the ground on SSN (when ourselves and Clowntown were linked with him) with the fans all around him cheering as he reassured them he was going nowhere.
Within a week he was on his way to Burnley!

The last line could be why it went wrong.
He may be better if he only concentrates on team matters with no other side issues.

It seems to work for roy as he denies having any input in most new players it appears.

He was actually offered the Palace job before Freedman was appointed and turned it down. I wonder if Parish still thinks positively about him? Aside from this season, he has a pretty decent record especially given where Bournemouth were when he took over. My biggest concern, as others have mentioned, would be his lack of attention to the defensive side of the game - that's essentially why Bournemouth were relegated.

He was given a shed load of money and they still went down. He made a few good signings but he also signed Ibe and Solanke. Who would you trust to keep us up, Roy or Howe?

With the squad we have, if it was Roy, Howe or Dyche, then 1) Dyche, 2) Roy, 3) Howe.

I feel Eddie could get us 7th then relegated. He's the rollercoaster.
Hodgson gets you 11th - 15th.
Dyche gets you 9th - 13th.
