After Aston Villa’s win yesterday getting them out the drop zone and now leaving Watford in 18th, I would love for us to go in for Sarr who was a target not too long ago if the table remains how it is now. Not sure how much he would cost but think he would be worth it for sure.

Unfortunately he will be out of our price range, but I agree he would be a good acquisition

I agree, he has really stood out for Watford in their performances and there will be a lot of interest in him, any sale price will reflect this.

Watford signed him for a whopping EUR30 million and having proved he can compete in the PL that figure must have at least risen to 40-50 million. Had Wilf gone he might possibly have come here in the first place if rumours from the time were true.

Anyway, like Saint-Maxim, this is another lad who should be placed under 'what could have been'. Were there any young wingers tearing it up in Ligue 1 this season who we can afford instead?

A 'what could have been' XI for us would be fantastic. No idea if I'm picking Carrasco or Saint-Maximin on the left, Bowen or Sarr on the right. Think Dave Nugent would have to get the nod up front though.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

I get that they would like to make money from this situation, however.

They could possibly be a championship club by monday - valuation decreases

They possibly paid over the odds in the first place

A competent player in the PL makes them worth 40-50M?

We are in London and exactly the sort of club he'd likely want to come to. I'd love to sign this guy and imagine 20M would do the job

The thing is, he has been one of the best players for Watford and he is unbelievably quick and has goals and assists in the PL and is still only 22. I'd be extremely surprised if he went for less than 30m and imagine it more probable that if Watford do sell it'll only be if they turn a tidy profit. He is not going for 20m and I would put my house on that. If they go down and they kept hold of him he will tear up the Championship.

Looks like we are interested as Chris Waters has flagged the L'Equipe post about an approach on Twitter.

Not fussed or convinced he is any good to be honest.

I very much hope the rumour is true. He did well in an underperforming team, and has PL experience. The only way we could afford him is selling Zaha, but as we all recognise I think, it's best for Zaha and the club to move on now, so hopefully something is in the pipeline.

This is a bit of a confusing 'rumour' but if the figure of £22.55m quoted at the end is accurate, (a big if of course) then this would place Sarr within range?
