I was so glad to see Greta out and about again. Taking a year off for climate change was such a brave thing to do. I'm not sure my work is going to be impressed but perhaps I'll follow her heroic lead.

Cryrst, I think I understand what's going on here. You are of course 100% correct that Greenland has been frozen and thawed a dozen times or more in previous millennia. The current "climate disaster" actually has nothing to do with that.

The current situation is that human activity is speeding up the natural changes in the earth's climate, leading to a potential situation in which much of the planet becomes uninhabitable to humans at a rate that we as a species will bot be able to cope with. Some predictions say this could happen in my childrens lifetime, other predictions say my grandchildren will be in the generation that bear the brunt. An alarming number of reports claim it is happening now. But either way, it is happening and it is our fault. The question shouldn't be whether or not we do something about it, but what do we do.

I agree for the most part. But taxing motorists in the UK is going to have no effect on China, Asia and Africa pumping the pollution out.

Imagine the co2 drops too low for mother earth.
Bang! it will pump it out with earthquakes.
Then some donut will say it's our fault as we reduced co2 too much. If your using figures ref the amount of scientists; have you considered that society atm doesnt allow telling how you ACTUALLY feel or beleive to be true and it gets you fired or totally ostracized if you ain't in the click.

I think it is about time that the government and the justice system dealt with these individuals properly.

XR are different from many protest groups including BLM in one particular area. Unlike other protestors they refuse to co-operate with the police when putting on their demonstrations and often break the law and commit criminal damage with impunity.

For instance last year when they held parts of London to ransom the police urged them to agree safe places where they could protest for days whilst allowing the public to get on with their lives.

The police are well versed in negotiating with demonstrators and even anti authoritarian protestors will privately admit that they are are given a good deal of latitude to make their point.

The police would rather allow a march for several hours that holds up the traffic but passes off peacefully and work with the groups to ensure it is safe for marchers and the public.

XR will have nothing to do with this and think it is their right to make the rest of our lives hell.

The right to protest always comes with strings attached the public also have the right to go about their own business.

Time to clamp down on these middle class white liberals lets see how many enjoy a few weeks in prison and a criminal record.
