The question is, is he any better, or even as good as, some of youngsters coming through like Pierrick? Bright seemed very enthused by our U23 players in his commentary. I had previously thought maybe Ibe is worth taking the risk on if his wage demands are reasonable (eg 30k pw) but you do have to question that given the patience Bournemouth showed and the support they gave him, maybe either his attitude or ability is just not good enough.

I will be very surprised if Ibe was signed by our club.

I'm guessing our number 1 target is Fraser but if he goes to Newcastle then it's the QPR lad or Ibe.

I don’t understand why we would sign Ibe given his history. I can think of one thing that he has done in say last 3 years that has anything positive. It would be one of the most questionable signings in our recent history.

Ibe was banned from driving for 16 months and fined £7,500 in March this year for crashing his Bentley in Bromley in July last year and fleeing the scene.

He also checked himself in to a rehabilitation clinic for his mental health afterwards and has been fairly open about struggling with depression and drinking and not living a good lifestyle as a result.

Agreed I was just guessing what our pecking order was.

Don’t have a problem signing him, but would have to be a very team friendly deal. There’s a player somewhere in there, but would be a serious punt. Routledge had a seriously low patch for a while and came back to be a decent premiership player for a few years. I’ve might just need the right environment support. Sometimes players bounce back once humbled - sadly many never learn.

Part of typical legal advice to have a positive influence sentencing at court.
But not a bad thing if it helps the lad recognise where he’s been going wrong. I wouldn’t be surprised if Chis Wilder at Sheff U takes a punt on him (like they did with Ravel Morrison) and then realising he’s a wrong un and releasing him after 12 months.

Not with the risk imo.

Why would we want to sign someone who never scores? We’ve got one of those already! I know every club signs duffers but Ibe and Solanke were seriously poor signings by Eddie Howe.

Cost them there premier league status, circa £35 million for these 2. Howe really did have a poor record in the transfer market. Any club hiring him in the future, would need to make him head coach only, therefore devoiding him of having sole responsibility of transfers.

Solanke came good in the last few games, and was someone we were interested in. Who knows, he might be on our long list? Dazza might know!
