A lot of damage has been done here.

Aren't you a good little boy, dutifily parroting your EU President?

Clausula rebus sic stantibus - [Go f*** your intransigent controlling political project] = the very next clause in the Vienna Treaty

[Link]

There is a mountain of evidence to demonstrate that the EU have acted against the WA, in spirit and in practice. Not least, it is refusing to negotiate an FTA without preconditions.

Notwithstanding any of this, they willingly ratifed the treaty upon the UK implementation of it passing into UK law. That includes Article 38 of the Act. Do you know what that Article states? Do they know what that Article states? For a "rules-based organisation" (yeah, when it suits them), do you think they didn't scrutinise the Bill that was passed, as they are now doing with the current bill? Not a leg to stand on.

Funny how we're all suddenly experts on international law, with legal standpoints entirely aligned to how much we want the UK to fail as a sovereign nation outside of the EU, hmm? Having just read today's article by Martin Howe QC (my go-to for the various constitutional maladies the EU have inflicted upon us), and I'm quite happy. And even more keen for us to rip the f***ing WA up. All of it, preferably.

...and now we have "three weeks to... withdraw these measures from the draft Bill in the shortest time possible and in any case by the end of the month.". Just who the f*** do these people think they are? The days of the EU writing direct-effect Directives and zero-debate Regulations into our statute books are over.

To be fair, HMG have been quite blatant about their current proposal breaking international law and it is not a good look no matter what. Personally I am fully behind the move because it is the EU who disgust me on a multiple of levels. And given that almost every single British person up in the arms about this are also the t***s who wanted my vote on June 23rd rendered useless, they to can go and f*** themselves. They also disgust me on a multiple of levels as well with my heart pumping piss for them.

But however this pans out, this will not have been this country's finest moment. Sometimes when s*** is s***, you have to accept that even if you are quite happy for it to be flung about.

We haven't actually broken any laws yet though have we.

What the average person in East LA (Lower Addiscombe) will be seeing is it's one rule for the powerful and another for the average. Just not a good look, as has been said.

You may not know that as I think you have fallen our of love with East LA these days.

Firstly, I'm not a senior citizen. Second, your grasp of reality is notoriously flimsy. You epitomise the naivety of the Left and the fact that we grew up in the same town makes no difference to me. The place is a dump now as all of the suburbs will be in a few decades. The rules will always be set by the wealthy and powerful. Accept that now and save yourself further pain.

Your anger is fully justified and I agree fully with you but the reality, and the most bloody interesting part of this all, is that the Government have put their hands up and said that yes, their proposal breaks international law.

Key to this is understanding why they are so brazen about it? The EU are going nuts because they see it as a serious snub. That the UK now consider them not even worthy of consideration. And if they want to end the talks over it then the percentage of the country that voted Leave and backed Johnson over it will be cheering to the rafters.

The UK WANTS the EU to throw its toys out of the pram. Their actions are effectively daring them to do so. This is all a very calculated power play designed to make them storm off in a huff. Because then they have to answer to 27 other countries. Many of whom need UK markets more than ever now. Brussels failure to secure a deal plays out badly and severely undermines its authority.

And the final proof is what Labour are saying out it....which is very, very little. They know how this plays out and siding with the EU ain't a good look for them.

Potentially an incredibly clever move. Still a way to go but I am impressed. A possible Ace card being played here. And if anybody thinks it is more of a joker then I am all ears. But make it good. Seriously. No more bulls***.

Should have gone to specsavers, and Jeremy Corbyn.

By now we would have a new agreement which the country could choose or not, or remained if we wished.

And we would have adhered to as countries do normally.

The UK cannot win a trade war with the EU and nobody wishes to trade with a country that breaks its agreements.

Gosh you are thoughtful

I hadn’t realised I am suffering pain

You are over 55 so you count. But I don’t actually think I said you are a senior citizen, you just act like one.

Maybe that’s why Croydon is so scary for you.

Sorry to disappoint.

I would call our friends and apologise, and be working all hours to restore good relations.

I wonder if they have some plan for re-entering the EU fast, I would dust that off.

I"m glad i got my Irish passport sorted, might fancy living there and spain/france/portugal one day, even in usa, got a feeling we have had the best years in the uk, (not that we knew), and the working people are going to have ever decreasing change in their pockets! Domonic raabs idea of getting rid of the £7.50 minimum wage so they can pay the citizens of the uk even less being a prime example- that was just a year ago!

Blimey I used to sit in my old local & hear people say this on a weekly basis & the usual uber liberal types all said pretty much the same thing as well when Trump became president.
Well those people are still propping up the bar in Balham & those left wing actors & actresses are still lounging by their pools in Hollywood.

I dont recall any politicians stating we would never consider that. Where did you read it was said.
