Too much money for me at £25m Brewster might be better option. Mind you I'd love to see Wilf play alongside the Bat up top.

It’s clear that from what Hodgson said ,we are in for more players.
I get the feeling some have got to go out , simply to get the money. Sorloth , is the obvious one,, maybe Benteke, and then of course Wilf. Any costly signing is not likely , unless someone is sold. OMHO.

I think it is time he returned to playing to his strength as a winger. he does not get enough goals as a striker and he misses too many chances. I would prefer to see Ayew or Eze played off striker before Wilf or even possibly Benteke and Bats together

It's great that we are in for more players, though there is serious competition both for Brewster and Benrahma. If the cookie doesn't crumble, we may end up with neither? Dazza, an update would be useful, I hope you haven't been scared off? If Dazza does post again, please let's be respectful?

I reckon we must be pretty far down the line with Benrahma- for Roy to comment as he did.
I happen to agree with him that a forward has to be the priority - Brewster would be fantastic. But the Wilder factor vs Roy’s reluctance introduce new players may swing it their way. Plus they played an attacking brand of football that would attract me as a player. Just hoping the lure of his hometown ( I gather he’s a London lad) may swing it for us.

Despite what Dazza says there’s no way we will sign Brewster and Benrahma. If we get one of them I will be delighted but I’m doubtful we will end up with either.

Benrahma not likely to get a game unless Wilf leaves.

Brewster not likely to get a game unless injuries.

Brewster makes sense as he can spend this season assimilating/cover, and be a "seasoned" starter/sub next season after Bats goes...

...Unless we exercise our option on Bats. Hmm...

Benrahma makes sense as Wilf needs to reduce his play time - he will be seriously injured one day - and we need someone in situ to replace him should he leave.

In neither case can I see what's in it for the players.

Surely Benrahma would replace Townsend not Wilf and Brewster could make an excellent impact sub.

When you say "what's in it for the players" one wonders why Jota moved to Liverpool or why Sarr is supposedly waiting for a move there as neither are likely to make the first team

Disagree, Brewster would certainly challenge Ayew and Batshuayi. He'll get a chance for sure. Bats is only on loan this season so he could be our main man next season. I think Benteke will be off in the next couple of weeks.

Benrahma would be on par with Eze and behind Wilf (who still may leave).

It would be great to have some options and competition for places up top. Also gives us impact subs to bring off the bench and the ability to rotate. Games will come thick and fast this season due to the late start. There will be more injuries than normal.

The future looks a lot brighter. Could be an excellent season.

I'd agree. Any chance we have to add quality and competition into the squad should be taken.

Haha, let's sign him off Brentford now before he becomes £25m. In fact, lets just pay Brentford to find players for us and we will give them 20% of purchase cost. It would still work out cheaper.
