Add to that - congestion causes more pollution than moving traffic so where is the environmental benefit in all of this.
Khan is an idiot and many Councils are following suit.

All these road blocks are meant to be coming out in November. All for covid apparently. I dont think so.
I think it's to get worse readings in certain areas for pollution then bang, extend the ( in croydons favourite) CON charge.

I have an image of you strung up on a cross singing "Always look on the bright side of life" next to Brian now!

Let's return London to being pleasant to live in, free us from the infernal combustion engine.

how are tradesman going to get to work how are people visiting the city from outside from different parts of the country going to get about how are people going to get to work if the trains decide to strike now are black cabbies going to earn money. People always suffer for lefty ideological paradise that only exist in their heads while everyone else is pissed off then use labels to describe said people rather than accept nobody likes them or will vote for them in elections. Khan got in for one reason and we all know what that reason is if he gets a second term it will be for that same reason because let's be honest. HIS CV IS APPALING.

Not to mention driving is Covid safe compared to public transport

LOL. London is not meant to be 'pleasant'. It is meant to be noisy and chaotic and messy and full of life. Hustle and bustle. But it has to have 'flow'. People moving around, getting s*** done, making things happen.

'Pleasant' is usually code of just helping out rich people. A classic example is the road network around Crystal Palace. In their wisdom Croydon have closed off several of the roads either running parallel to, or connecting, the approaches to the Triangle for through traffic. Causing utter mayhem and for the benefit of whom? Nobody other than a few wealthy residents. Who cares that the traffic just ends up diverting through other roads, invariably lined with much poorer residents than the ones Croydon seem so keen to help out.

Like so much else the Left do, it helps nobody but the smallest amount of their own supporters.

London is a trading city. Buying and selling at the heart of why it exists in the first place. You want 'pleasant', f*** off and live in the country.

I think even Steely would recognise the truth in your reply.

London always used to be loud, noisy, rude and dirty.

It was just never this violent, dangerous, mistrustful, corrupt and cowed. This is balkanisation in action.

The middle class liberals are moving out, the property prices in the countryside are peaking and the property prices in the wealthy areas will crash and although these people will tell you it’s because they can work from home now, we all know the real reason.

How exactly are this government conservative?

Do you really think none of this relates to the mass import of people from violent tribal societies?
