So what happens with eze, cant see roy playing both...

At the moment Roy is using Eze as a sub to help see out games. If we are in front he is acting as a good outlet to take pressure off us when the ball is cleared away. He is quick and tricky which keeps a bit of possession for us. A bit like we use Zaha but not as good but also fresher.

I think this will continue while it works, or until injuries force the ned to change this.

I do wonder if JS could move to a central midfield role. He is strong and tenacious and has quality and link up play going forwards. I could see him being like a McArthur style player, especially as McArthur's engine will decline as he is getting older. Maybe something that could be experimented a little with.

For me Schlupp is a direct running player, no frills, limited technical ability, terrible passer. But, this does mean he doesn't mess about passing sideways or looking to control the game and often seems to surprise teams by just running straight at them and with pace - he's also very good in the air and is often targeted by Guiata with his kicks. In games where we have limited possession this can be very effective, but once we start playing smaller teams where we have more of the ball that is where he might struggle and where Eze might be a better option.

Eze looks very classy on the ball and is a totally different prospect. The one thing he doesn't seem to do from brief cameos is track back so well, which given the inexperience of Tyrick is an issue. If Schlupp stays fit and keeps working hard he might keep Eze out for a while, but while we're winning I doubt Eze will be complaining too much as he seems very grounded. That competition should be a good thing though. When Schlupp came off yesterday I've never seen him looking so exhausted! My MOTM for pure 100% commitment.

Don’t think he’s an enigma.
He’s a very good direct and hard working team player. He does whatever is asked of him by the manger and has been great helping to bring Tyrick on. His pace is frightening (as we saw yesterday) and as long as we stick to playing him on the left we’ll get the best from him.
He had a Really impressive 9 game loan spell at Brentford in 2010/11 where he score 6 playing as striker - so can score a goal.

I think we’re a much more complete team when he plays on the left and he is the most underrated and under appreciated player in the team at the moment.

Not that I go anymore! And I’m not renewing my ST. not until full crowds are allowed back
IM not bothered who we play but I go for the atmosphere and that’s something not coming back yet. Not with 2000 fans.
Even the old pre season friendlies got 5000 with 4000 in the homesdale. I’d go if it ere like that. There was always a good spirit.
Sad.

Is the correct answer. Drove us forward so we could press and others create. Usually its PVA but Jeff was another level, covered so much ground whilst protecting Mitchell. Motm with Wilf closely behind

Overall good comments. His airiel proesque is another attribute he brings, helped win us the game there last year too. Palace have to have these kinda direct running types in the team, its in our dna. we used to have Clyne, then yannick, now we have schlupp. Oh and the technical ability he showed to skin 3 United players before teeing andros / wilf to fluff was incredible

I've always had a downer on him but he's changing my mind.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

Hmm, a few candidates for that title.

Actually I'll name them.

I know it's early, but players who have been vilified on here but have so far stepped up to the plate.

Schlupp, MaCarthy, Kouyate, Dann, Townsend, Ward.

Guita and Wilf seem to have overcome loose feet.

Just need Jordan to recover his POTY level, Jairo to continue to develop on the pitch, Luka to recover his form, the new players to settle in and our 1st choice CBs to return to match fitness and we could have one heck of a team.
