What are/were her symptoms?

Temperature, breathlessness, headache and general ill feeling - she was more concerned about the people & places she’s been in contact with.

Thank you all for your kind messages. We may bicker on here but we care for one another

My mother was 92 and had dementia but was enjoying life and should have had at least a couple of years more time. Whilst COVID-19 didn't take her, the effects of it surely did. And this is much of the story of this pandemic. Largely people going just a little before their time and leaving a hole prematurely. Seeing such things first hand makes it hard to view the situation dispassionately. It is clear that many organisations have handled the situation dramatically better than others and the lack of sufficiently common approaches is heartbreaking. Many more would have been saved with shared best practices.

Condolences Maple. Such a shame.
My mother is old and has cancer so it has been pretty difficult during the pandemic. I'm not able to visit her so that just compounds matters. Hard days.

Some of the media are reporting a large increase in testing of children, Johnny has a runny nose it must be the virus.

The testing process is shambolic but it doesn't help if people are turning up because they have a cold and with the flu season about to start it is only going to get worse.

I guess the question to ask is do you need to get tested?

You’re right but there is more anxiety in small towns where someone who contracted the virus and didn’t isolate would be entering Hatfield & McCoy territory.

Maybe a few kids need to get it harsh for the message to get around sadly.
Ironic if these parents are the very ones who dont beleive how serious this is. I think hospital admissions are rising so deaths will follow in two weeks or so.

I may have/someonemay have , posted this before (the thread is too long to check)

Although people diagnosed with Covid who die within a month are 'Covid deaths' (no matter how they die), There are also patients with progressive diseases, such as cancer, who have had their treatment delayed, or even cancelled, as some parts of the NHS run out of capacity. These poor people, whose timely treatment could have saved them, I would also consider Covid deaths.

and Thursday and Friday were consecutive days of record confirmed cases.

I will say that my mother has had two cancer operations during the pandemic and has had regular appointments and chemotherapy. Fair play to the NHS in this respect.
I will say, however, we changed consultants. First one in Worcester simply said six months to live, terminal. Second one in Birmingham has been treating her and has been nearly successful. Goes to show how which area you live in can easily affect your life/health chances.

Deaths as a result of lockdowns/restrictions/hospital clearings are not and should not be recorded as Covid, just as those in spring and summer that were from something else but recorded as Covid. All this false reporting does is keep the cycle going. It’s gross negligence and corrupt.

One point on testing and it's troubles - apparently large numbers of people book tests and never even turn up to take them.
That should become a criminal offence!

Well she could have got down and walked away.
A copper was shot 12 hours before this.
Where would your mind be?
