I'm not sure about a stadium but my god you're right the town centre is just awful... Has been in need of serious work for a number of years now... So sad to see the state of it's decline over the last 15 years or so.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Selhurst Park and CPP are in different London boroughs.

Offering land in one has no benefit to the other.

Transport links to CPP are awful - yes worse that to Selhurst Park. The local residents and park trustees would object to any building in CPP.

I can't see that as an option.

Sorry,I cannot agree with that.

CPP has,at my count,19 bus routes adjacent or very nearby. It also has rail or overground or tram connections in the 7 stations all within 1 mile of CCP.These stations are Crystal Palace,Penge East,Penge West,Anerley,Birkbeck,Sydenham Hill and Gipsy Hill with Kent House just outside the 1 mile from the current stadium in CPP.

I ask you, does this compare with the links at SP?

This entire thread is now irrelevant until a vaccine has been found for Covid

No one is going to spend 100 million on a stand to extend capacity when fans are not allowed in to watch.

On the other had it would have been a good time to do it in practical terms with no crowds to accommodate.

Like as in a new town environment where transport links can be an issue and it is a bit of a trek to get anywhere and the nearest boozer is a Harvester.

Colchester moved from an old ground in an urban area to a new ground thry need to bus fans into.

So from your description you obviously know zero about Crawley then.

Town centres have are the best location for uniting a club and fans.

Buses and trams arent suitable for transport links. Look at all the problems they have with the Amex.

Trains bring in up to 800 people every time one arrives.

As Croydon Council seem to have managed to f*** up the Westfield development by dragging their heels for so long it's now no longer viable.

A mixed use town centre development my be the only way to keep the town centre alive.

It's just a small town in three bridges.

Can anyone else remember seeing Palace play at the athletics stadium?

I think it was pre season friendly, summer of 1969, I think we played Swindon with Don Rogers .

If anyone can confirm or correct would be appreciated. My transport would have been 63 bus

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.
