Think we’ve done our business now after listening to the press conference today - or is that what the club want everyone to think?
We’ve gone from last week a striker being a priority and maybe winger - to this week “well Wilf is playing as a striker” and “were fairly well stocked I the wide areas”. Yet no additions? Mmmmmmm.
Smacks of us making out that we don’t need a striker (so won’t pay over the odds) if you ask me........at least that’s what I’m hoping!

So today Roy has said we are not in talks to sign Benrahma and that we are not after Nelson either.

Brewster has already gone to Sheff Utd.

This isn’t exactly supporting all the ITK chatter. I’m not particularly fussed about who we sign as long as the squad looks strong. Good news from today is the return to training of some important players.

Looks like Benteke here to stay plus Batshuay Ayew Zaha all can play up front in the middle so we’re not short. Plus the super sick bodybuilder is still lurking somewhere.

I am also still hanging on to some hope that something sensible will happen and we get the striker that we have been hoping for over the last couple of years. CP nett spend this window is about 10mil (20 mil Eke less the 10 mil we are reported getting for Sorloth). Furguson is a free but until the tribunal decide will not know his true cost, so zero at present. I'm concerned that we are once again burying our heads in the sand over the striker issue, I know we have Bats this time and I do hope he comes good but to be realistic he did not shine against Bournemouth and he will be back at Chelsea come the end of the season or he gets injured and then we are back to square one, frankly, cannot see our sicknote/lazy strikers being of any use (Wickham/Benteke). Therefore if we end up struggling for goals again, like last season, this time I fear we will be in big trouble!

I thought we paid 16m for eze?
While I agree to an extent, seems zaha is going to be playing as a CF (and not doing a bad job). Plus if Bats does well, dont we have an option to buy? So we have zaha, ayew, bats and benteke (I'll ignore wickham), and townsend and eze on the wings. Personally think that's pretty good. IMO what we're still missing is a creative central midfielder..

Why are we not concentrating on a constructive midfielder - our crying need ?

Ruben Loftus Cheek seems to be available on loan.
I'd have him more then any of the others that have been suggested.

He is strong, very skilful. has vision and could provide the through balls that the forwards never seem to get.

Except we already have Bats on loan which rules him out.

According to Sky it was 20mil, maybe that includes add ons. Zaha is not a centre forward and today we had no shots on target. Have lost all faith in Benteke, 4 goals since 2017 and Wickham just gets injured getting out of his car, hence we have no offers for either and who would be silly enough to buy or loan them with their huge salaries and lack of any form. Looks like another duff window as far as SP concerned very disappointed yet again!
