Make your mind up then. He's s*** if he plays, and he's s*** if he doesn't. Hodgson is s*** if he starts him, and he's s*** if he doesn't bring him on. wtf?

Calm down Timothy. No need to be on the perpetual warpath.

Who rattled your cage? I'm calm, unlike the "SACK ROY!" bunch. What's your stance BJ?

Only teasing . I piped up a time or two a few pages back but it's fast moving! I get the perpetual push to either move on from Roy or somehow get him to change his style and become more dynamic and daring (neither or which is likely), but I'm not a world away from your stance really. 'Roy Out' predictably accompanies any bad result, but he's given a lot to the club and his critics would be hard pushed to deny that his 'steady' style has got us to where we are today, and kept us there.

It will eventually be the right time to move on, but 'careful what you wish for' comes to mind.

What a load of drivel from 'the cup half empties' Palace Supporters.

Just a minute, why are people blaming Roy for defensive errors??? Human error is a factor, and inhuman to expect players to be Robots.

Regarding subs ... sure, got 90 million???

It's awful, that as a mere Palace fan, this thread is up for the topic yet again. Negative people here in this thread think that the money being spent is not prudently sufficient, or is the Gaffers fault. Just because you are great at tactics or finance. Does in my opinion amount to poppy-cock and balderdash.

As a happy Roy fan though at times disappointed, we knew what we were getting, and the alternatives at the time were a lot worse.

Yes, I am proud we are in the prem, which I may add has made a healthy contribution by way of Managers and Internationals to the history of the football league.

But I'm far more proud we are known as a club with honest fans and honest players that play honest football.

I motion to close this thread today.

I motion to add that you haven’t added anything to the debate at all. This wanting to close a thread thing, are you one of the cancel brigade? Threads like this are important to see the opposing views on the subject. If you don’t like it, don’t bother reading it.

How have we progressed over the last four years as we have effectively just stood still with our ancient squad getting older and older

You haven't answered the question.

I can name about 12 teams our size who have gone backwards over the past 4 years and only Southampton who are on par with us. You could argue Leicester and Wolves but IMO they are bigger clubs.

Its not as easy as some people think to keep climbing up the table as its simple not possible for all teams to do it!

Perhaps but we haven't addressed the main problems which are scoring goals and the age of the squad,

I know that we have bought a young crock to play in defence but until he gets fit we will have to continue to rely on Dad's Army.

Bats joined us less than a week after scoring twice for Belgium but he has had to make do with five minutes at the end so if that carries on we won't be scoring goals either.

Andros Townsend made an interesting comment that Leeds and Villa were scoring goals for fun as they played as if they weren't scared of anyone. Shame that we can't be the same

Desperate stuff here. Benteke good at holding the ball up ? Since when ? For a bloke of his size it’s absolutely pathetic and his complete lack of contribution at times has been as big a problem as his goal scoring.

Quite right brining Benteke on is like playing with 10 men against 11, he look clumsy, can't head the ball in a controlled manner, has no floor ball skills, does not like running best use of him with his new skill set is making the half time cuppa!
