And never comes into contact with them on a matchday (i've seen him out warming up when all of the mascots are on pitch and I've seen him run out between 2 lines of Crystals at teams take to the pitch) or in various PR or community work for the club?

If I was paid 60k a week i'm sure my employers would want me to take an interest in other aspects of the company especially ones that are good for PR.

I didn't get upset, just surprised and a little disappointed in him that he didn't know the names.

Hit the nail on the head there. It is disappointing, especially when you consider how long he's been at Palace now. I don't get the impression he's an unintelligent person, but his ignorance of a few simple details about the club doesn't reflect well on him at all.

You'd think he at least must've been a bit curious at some stage. Didn't he ever wonder who those dancers were, who that bloke in the costume was, or where that eagle came from? Apparently not.

The players should know the names of every season ticket holder too. If they don't, questions should be asked.

and, of course, which seat they sit in!

Thickest thing this year is Sakho's torso.

People same never criticise the poster on HOL, only the post.( we are not like those in " the other place " )

In that spirit I say nothing to OP, to the post I say , what a waste of time and ridiculous post you are .

First thing you do when you get a new leadership role is learn the names of the security guard and the cleaner. You want to know what’s going on you need your very own Huggy Bears.

So it is a bit of a shame, but thick he ain’t.

Not knowing the name of a bird that flew across the pitch before each game, a couple of folk in fancy dress and some young ladies dancing really doesn’t make him ‘thick’ does it? Is it really disappointing and is he really in a leadership role - such that he needs to know the names of everyone? No.

He probably has more interaction with ball boys - should he know all of their names as well? (And if you equate someone disappointing you with them being ‘thick’ then you must know an awful lot of thick people, because pretty much everyone I come into contact with invariably disappoints me in some way)!

I suspect and hope that before, during and after the game he is more focussed on football stuff, but when he’s finished work he probably just wants to go home, like we all do.

If he did recount all these details, someone would come on here spouting that he must be ‘thick’ as footballs his job and if he spent more time concentrating on that and less time befriending a bird of prey, a couple of folk dressed as giant plastic birds and chatting up the Crystal Girls he’d put in better performances.

Poor bloke can’t win.

Mmm, a thick footballer? Isn't that a tautology or is it a pleonasm? I'm not an expert in grammar. Perhaps I'm too thick

My word thank you Chris ahem ahem for having me Andros Townsend on your show to explain my new theory which is mine that it is.

'The Premier League is very rich at the top end, then not quite so rich in the middle, and then not rich at the bottom end'.

Apologies to Ann Elk (Miss)
