Talented players rolling it backwards and sideways. Sitting back and hoping to nick a goal.
No Plan B when they go a goal down.
No creativity on the pitch, Rice and Phillips in midfield, with Grealish sitting on the bench.
The odd good result sneaked now and again.
Lose at home to the dross.

The ref didn't do England much help tonight.

That penalty decision was bogus, the tackle on Coady 2nd half was as much of a pen if not more.

Still though, can't work out why GS won't play Grealish.

And the worry is when he gets sussed out by England next year, Parish will see him as the ideal replacement for when Roy goes

Couldn't really work out what the ref thought the foul was. At least when someone dives you can see how the ref was tricked.

Southgate seems to have tactical flaws, but to me, the structural changes in the national team structure at all age groups make him a more progressive manager than England have had in a very long time. Its seems like he's finally got the FA to take on some of Sir Clive Woodward's approach to running a national team.

On the national rugby team. There was a point in the 6N where England had just lost to Wales. Eddie Jones seemed to be laughing in the presser afterwards. No one has realised he used it as a dress rehearsal for the tactics they would employ against the All Backs that ended up blitzing them in the world Cup.

There might be more at play here. I think (hope) he might know he's starting and is just testing out his back up plans.

Aha! The old double-bluff - I think I get it. Let's home the A-game works then, cos the back-up plan I sat through tonight was total pants.

Too many sub international players.
Maguire - clumsy and one dimensional.
Rice - way out of his depth.
Rashford - non existent.
Pickford - everyone knows he’s not the best GK.
Walker - liability.

That thought has crossed my mind. Not ITK or not professing that this is true but I had heard from an acquaintance of ex- Palace manager Alan Smith that GS was not that enamoured with being England manager and would like to return to club football!

He isn’t good enough for top flight club management, but perfect for National Manager as he says the right words.
Lost any credibility he had by continually picking that donkey McGuire, who has no ability or confidence and has personal issues.

Whilst we are on England, and sorry if this offends anyone, but am I the only person in the world who has never witnessed Jadon Sancho actually do anything of note, ever, in a game? Isn't he supposed to be the next or even current big thing?

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Nope. I am with you, massively overrated. I watched a bit of German football on TV whilst in lockdown - sideways and backwards in their own half, no penetration in the opposing box, everything at snail's pace. Bayern do well obviously and Jadon seems to as well in this environment. Outside of it sadly Jadon is invisible. Over-valued and interesting the Man U scouts, which says it all.

Yes forgot to mention that, I have watched him a few times for Dortmund and never actually been that impressed. They're a very good team and play very quick football, he manages to keep up with the action but seems to benefit far more from his team mates than they do from him.

That said, I have not watched Dortmund with any consistency or to any great extent.
