A perfect example of why I am so wary of what is happening at the moment. We are heading towards a s*** storm of historical proportions because this election is going to be disputed.

In fact ever since the Brext Referendum and then Trumps win in 2016 the concerted efforts to effectively render both as being non-valid is utterly terrifying and all from people who would have, prior to 2016, no doubt presented themselves as the champions of democracy and free speech.

With no real thoughts about the consequences of their actions. Acting like spolit brats who cannot bear the fact that others did not agree with them and vote for events and people they do not like.

I posted before, I dont think trump cares either way. If he wins he will smash antifa and all their cohorts. Then carry on building the wall and improving a majority of yanks lives and creating peace around the world. If he loses he will sit back with his brandy and Havana watching people crying about how the left are treating them; and it will be their own voters. Then watching the many wars the left will start, Humming to himself with a wry grin.
you dont know what you have till it's gone.

Oddly enough I feel Antifa have more to fear from Biden than Trump.

If Trump wins then the US establishment doubles up in its efforts to effectively protect both Antifa and BLM. They serve a purpose in that the Democrats will want to keep up the pressure and chaos. If Democrat controlled states like California and Washington are not going to do anything about them at the moment, I cannot see that changing if Trump remains in the White House.

But if Biden wins then I suspect that both organisations will be smashed. They have served their purpose and by the Democrats turning on them, it gives them something to show the Republican states that they are actually for law and order after all.

History is littered with political institutions using street violence groups to further their ends and then when in power destroying them by way of a sacrifice/sop.

It was our own intelligence services who recommended to Mrs May that, as the referendum process had been compromised by malign foreign interference it should be disregarded and re-run. She bottled it as she feared the consequences. In the US the FBI, and other intelligence services, also know that the 2016 election was similarly compromised.

What's new here is not "spoilt brats" getting upset at all. It's the use of the new media to interfere in the democratic process. Of course, we have long had opinion-makers in newspapers, radio and TV but this is quite different. This is state-sponsored propaganda designed to sow discontent and divide us.

What's so sad is how clearly it is working.

Here's a story that has no facts in it at all, just opinions, yet this is being promoted on all platforms, quelle surprise. Pass your own judgement.

[Link]

Of course, it has facts. It reports the intelligent services concerns. Concerns that may have been proven justified by the story in the NY Post, for which no evidence of authenticity was given and which may well turn out to be an elaborate fraud. We will have to wait awhile to know what is true but the fact that Twitter and FB have culled links to the story doesn't add any authenticity to it at this stage.

Race baiting. Another 'because you say so, everyone else has to agree'. How about: 'What's good for the goose is good for the gander'. Tell me now, honestly, that you have never used that expression.

Where do you see "race-baiting"? I don't. I see a thoughtful, cogent, intelligent argument being quietly expressed. Sauce for the Goose being sauce for the Ganderis the expression I know and use. To be valid it requires both the Goose and the Gander to be equal. The argument being made here is that they are not.

Yes we're all glad the thought police can make up our minds for us. Thank goodness they save me from such disinformation: not like they have any of their own agendas is it? An article that you don't agree with is disinformation, an article you agree with is entirely factual and correct. Nelson saw no ships, which eye did he use?

No-body is making up your mind for you! The social media companies are though now adopting a stronger line on disinformation. Not on opinions, but on matters where there is evidence of deliberate attempts to mislead. Unless they do that how will people be able to trust what they read? It is not before time. The social media platforms have allowed far too much dangerously misleading garbage to be posted and accepted as true by the gullible for far too long.

Just so long as it is based on fact people can say whatever they like. Indeed they can even if it isn't based on fact, but then they must expect to be warned about it.

Freedom of speech is a precious right which must be protected. No argument about that. But with every right comes a responsibility and with this, it is not to deliberately lie.

Said similar previously, he of course denied it but what else can we expect

When you say something that is true then I will agree with it. This issue has nothing at all to do with free speech and everything to do with stopping the spread of disinformation. When that stops so will the need for oversight. If you cannot see that the difference between information and disinformation is not simply a matter of opinion then I am unable to help you.

You are still crying foul over the referendum?

You really need to get a life.

I don't think too much brandy is available in jail, although that won't bother him as he doesn't drink does he? What will is having his Twitter account suspended.

Not in any way. I was answering another point that used it as an example.

Brexit has happened. The task now is to expose why and then reverse it. No point in crying. Too much to do. Johnson is assisting a lot though.
